I’m both busy and not emotionally ready too do the next turn.
Tutor game: trulpen (X) vs Avner [and everyone else] (A+23) BM3

@trulpen
The problem is then that ANZAC won’t take Java. That’s -4 IPC for the next turn. For that reason I’d choose Java before DNG during A1 any day of the week. Unless, of course, there’s been a JDOW1.Still think a chinese inf in YUNN is better (JAP will hate this move)

Not if it’s only air left attacking.
Ok but this means air units attacking 2inf 1art and 1aa;
I use to play LL but in a normal dice game this is very dangerous… -

I use to play LL but in a normal dice game this is very dangerous…It is. It’s possible to use 1-2 land units and hope the defense hits them but no more. It’s a shaky attack, but all depends on how eager Axis is to execute Vichy.
-
@surfer this is a very reasonable bid and has major impact on the first round battles. I like the proposal.
-
@malmessi74 the Yunnan infantry bid makes for a very dicey first round. Sometimes it makes a huge difference, while other matches it has zero effect.
I don’t think it is a bad move, but I would prefer having a bid that makes a definite First Round impact in critical theaters.

we can start? :)

Sure, just please repeat the decided bid so I know it’s finalized.

here I am (the weekend are not very operational)
I would say to try in the BM3 version
As a BID I usually assign it to the UK…
Definitely a fig in Scotland and a sub in sz 98… There remains room for an artillery in Sudan (to eliminate the Duke of Aosta from the Duce’s undertaking).
With this BID I would say to go like this … in the end.
Or at least that’s what I usually do.
:)
-
If instead … as suggested by the bomber Harris and others … we want to increase the BID, let’s talk about it …
Generally I prefer Taranto to sweep the Regia Marina quickly (they told me they didn’t put torpedo nets … :))
PS. In Taranto I was in the military for a few months but this has nothing to do with it :)
I’ve already experienced Trulpen’s strategy (even though it was PTV) so I’ll have to think accordingly …
So do we keep the BID like this or do we increase it?
-
Just remember, I’m able to use several different strategies.
-
Because of NG, you could argue that the bid is already at 27.
-
@trulpen In my positioning there is no inf Anzac in NG, but we can add it (besides hunting in scotland, sub in sz 98 and art in sudan)
-
Of course, if no inf on NG then no +7 (tr) as well.
-
@trulpen We fix it like this and get started.
I am inexperienced but I will have good advice from the world :)
-
Ok, so the bid placement is:
fig Scotland
sub z98
art Sudan
inf NG (making this a bid of 30)Not sure it’s wise of me to allow an extra 3 IPC for the inf on NG, but as this is a tutor game and not competitive, I’ll allow it. However, it might tilt the game and make it less interesting, but we’ll see about it. Rather experimental anyway.
-
i confirm ;)

A single dice roll during the first round can easily be a 20 point swing, such as a German plane hitting or missing the Allied ship. Bad choices such as being overly conservative in the attack plans can have even more long-term consequences. Despite this being a tutor game, so many decisions still fall on the shoulders of Avner. Differences in skill levels will soon be apparent from the game play.
We saw this in the last tutor game where the initial 50 PU bid quickly vanished in value as the units were not used for productive attacks during the first round when such a large amount of units should have had a drastic course change for the initial orders.
