No choices occurred, in case you are wondering.

Just could not overcome the mistake of inviting a UK invasion. Well played. Will post your win. Let me know if you want to play a part of games for the 2022 campaign. If so, let’s agree on what would be a fair Axis bonus, and you decide which side to take first.
I think if you had have held on to Moscow, which I took at about the time you reclaimed London, this game may have been somewhat more competitive. I lost a big chunk of the IJN quite early off the Gilberts. I should have been able to defend London better than that. So we both made mistakes, although losing London early and cheaply was probably the most critical one.
As for the correct bid, I think it is quite tough for the allies with a +6(TT) or +5(marine) bid to Japan when combined with a properly executed J1 attack. Conversely, it is really difficult for the Axis with a +4 or lower bid to the Axis. So in my mind, the map is fundamentally broken as is.

////I agree. The Ally problem was that without the UK, it was hard to put pressure on Germany in the west and give Russia some relief.
No doubt that losing the UK early was a critical/game-costing blunder.

////Do you want to try Axis+4?
