Rules clarification on scrambleing vs an amphibious assault

I now think a similar idea could apply to Finland.

Its 4 infantry can only move in the following territories:

Finland
Vyborg
Karelia
Norway
Sweden (not if the Axis are at war with the strict neutrals)

TripleaA lobby is seeing a lot of bids between 16-24 on average? In LL I agree with what’s been said, I really am starting to come to the conclusion that even mid-20s makes it a very tough match for Allies. I am not surprised the league is going higher than that. But I really do think you need to guage the skill level of your opponent. If you get a newbie in your triplea lobby, maybe cut them a break. It’s the somewhat experienced guys that always throw me, strong for about 3-5 rounds but then don’t really have any mid-game strategy experieince. It’s hard to know how much to bid in those cases too.

But anyway, back to what units are getting bought: Subs/DDs around the Med for UK. Sometimes fighters for UK (Scotland, Malta). Other threads have answered this question as well, from recent memory: Inf in Yunnan for example, and ground units in africa.

Less often variations: Russia bomber, UK transport in South Africa. UK sub in Malaya. I’ve also seen Subs in the north atlantic.

Some people dump a bunch of ground units in Russia. Whether or not that actually does anything I doubt.

We play Afghanistan as a Strict Neutral. Only Russia in game can influence.
But we do have an event card if drawn the Afghanistan’s become hostile Guerillas ( Japan Influencers ) like they did in WW 2 and attacked UK/FEC/Indian ground troops.

@timothy-gengarella In OOB, Netherlands would go German. With the Diplomacy expansion, they would go British. But most players put in restrictions that an attack by a major on a minor must have an actual attack of some sort to prevent it from being taken advantage of.

Hello Everyone! I made a thread a while back asking for feedback on additional unit stats for some upcoming games of Global 1940 that I would be playing with some friends. After a couple of games, and some more additions and modifications I thought I would share the rules and units that we were using to enhance our games. I was looking over the pictures and realized that the escort carrier did not have a defense value. In our games they defend on a 1.

@hengst not wasted at all. Repetition is what fine tunes these scenarios to make them the best they can be. Keep up the good work

I’ll assume you’re using the Alpha rules, otherwise UK can’t scramble at all in this situation.

Germany must first commit its fighters to either the sea zone or the territory (in any combination).  UK then has the choice to scramble any or all of its fighters, regardless of what Germany did.  This gives UK the advantage of knowing how Germany’s fighters will be assigned before it makes a decision regarding scrambling.
