@freh I meant what I could do in first 8 rounds. I know at this point I am lost.
@mozkaynak well, you went quite hard at Germany but didn’t push Japan too much. For example, your Russian purchases were aggressive, and pushed me back, but unfortunately Japan was uncontested and didn’t face much of a threat.
You could have made it harder for me to get Hawaii - for example, a couple of fighters on Hawaii might have made it too hard for me to get it this turn, and that would have prolonged the game and you’d have had more time to try to really cripple Germany.
I’d also suggest not making a dying stand at India. If you think you are at risk of losing India, it’s better to retreat your forces and continue to harass and pre-occupy the enemy. Sometimes it can make sense to make a stand, for instance, if the attack would force Japan to lose a significant portion of its airforce, maybe it’s worth it. But it isn’t worth losing units as a continuous threat is always best.
As for the money islands, I’ll admit even I have trouble as US effectively bothering Japan when the fleet is there and the airforce is nearby, making landings painful. The one thing I can say is that Japan is a nation that can’t do all of these things: send a huge force against the eastern Russian stack; put a lot of units deep into China; pressure India with a lot of land units and air; and use its navy to defend the money islands and, if necessary, Japan. Japan has to make choices. So as Allies, if you force Japan to commit to one area, you should try to take advantage of the other areas. If the force is in the North, keep it busy but harass the south. if Japan commits a force to attack Russia, China should be able to maintain a good control of land.
