Btw, pressuring the fleet was the main reason to go east to Hawaii instead of securing Philly. Trying to punish J for it’s bold intrusion into the heart of America. ;)

You could do that, but it would’ve been a waste, so I assumed no scramble. If you want I can redo that battle (not the aa though).

Sure, it’s the liberty of assumption, to make a different call.
Although in honesty, with less air on that fleet, US will need less force to crush it and more importantly hence less fleet displaced. But perhaps it doesn’t matter so much?

pls tell me why you didnt put more planes on the carriers in Gibralter. I’m trying to learn…its almost like your goating me into a disadvantaged attack on the fleet as I grow more desperate

I considered the fleet there very safe without more air. Can scramble 3 figs. Germany can attack with all its air, but just have too few ships to make it a devastating attack. If they’re really, really lucky it would be worth it, but most likely an attack would result in tremendous costs.
@trulpen interesting… do you just kind of see that or do you have to use the battle calculator (ctrl B) to figure just the right balance

In this case I initially went with the feeling, but checked with the calculator to be sure. The 8 subs are great as fodder and I got plenty of soaking as well (as to G too ofc).
@trulpen :cry: for me…I guess I better stick with playing tier 1 or 2 opponents. Guys on your level just dont make big enough mistakes

Oh, I make plenty of mistakes. Can’t count the number of times I’ve unnecessarily lost Berlin or Tokyo for being sloppy.
I dont think things look very good for the Axis, but what’s your assessment?

I agree. Japan is more or less finished, so the mighty US can direct it’s beady eyes towards EU.
The Allies have a strong economical advantage, so if Axis can’t win by VCs soon they’re pretty much toast. I don’t mind playing it out though.
