Hmm, might not have been worth declaring war on Japan to save the Chinese troops for a round.

Sorry, have been occupied for a few hours now.
No worries. It could’ve been a gamble to scramble, but I think that even with that 50 % I would’ve chosen to keep the figs to defend the land. If the amphi pushed through, it would be the end otherwise. So it’s all good.

Ouch, this maybe why this wasn’t the best. The file has no PBF-info now. I’ll see if I can make it work.

Nah, reconsidered. Think it might be better placed in San Fransisco, anticipating the japanese onslaught.

@trulpen I would not make an issue of the Hawaii ftr because I would not have a reasonable reason to do so. You concerned me a little with your balking about my German DD move, because it reminds me of your denial of the German Air I forgot to move up from Rome to participate in Sea Lion.
Yes you could have scrambled, but even a brand new Axis & Allies player would not do so as you did not have 50% odds, you had like next to 0% odds. And thats not to mention the desperate need for those ftrs in defense of London as your French Infantry can surely attest to.
I think we can have a good game and I acknowlege that you are a more superior player than I and that my only real hope for victory is maybe a little strategy combined with a lot of dice luck. And yes, I have been lucky with the dice excluding Sea Lion, Egypt and maybe a few other battles. So thank you and I’m fine with things as they stand. I will now attempt to create a little diversion with the Japanese forces -
Thank you! I agree, after considering it a possible scramble wasn’t really an issue. Although I calculated it to be 50 % without the des, but perhaps I miscalculated or missed something.
It was not my intention to complain. It was more of a revelation or observation. Also perhaps a benifit of PBF, when there is more time and space for the mind.
London was clearly a higher priority for me. Mainly was considering that denying the amphi would be a full secure protection. The attempt to deny it would be rather fishy though.
-
I think you’ve handled the game very well so far, except perhaps the over-sight of not moving the 2 german air from Rome (I would’ve allowed the edit, if it weren’t for the impact on the position).
You took Moscow by surprise. Probably sloppy of me, but you surely managed to whip up a lot of pressure quickly. London should perhaps have met the same destiny.
-
Oh, one more thing. I think your Japan needs a bit more love, although admittedly I made a lot of effort to make things dire in China.

I have to reiterate that denying the edit of air was mainly because of the factor of defense they played during UK as well as the pressure needing to position US and UK accordingly, and not the fact of an incoming SL. I hope that is apparent.
Also, more importantly, I hope that you’ve gained some valuable knowledge from the experience regarding des and sub. It’s an easy mistake to make to for instance think that a sub denies activities in a sz, but it doesn’t, while a des does. Subs are great, but may always be ignored if alone.
The des making the sz hostile is a neat trick to pick up from your sleeve from time to time. One exception though and that is if a nation just gets to war that turn.
A good example is Japan and z36. Lets say J has put 4 tr in z36 and put all troops in Kwangsi/FIC. If UK moves in a des there, J may still load all tr’s if J is allowed to DOW. However, if ANZAC DOW’s first, the tr’s will be unable to load to z36 and the island expansion is put on halt for a whole turn.
That’s why I always leave 1 inf on each tr in that situation, to be sure to grab islands.
