If they conquer an original Japanese coastal territory, can Allies take over and use a factory on that territory?

Italian canopening is even more effective when combined with the Germany “Dark Skies” option with lots of bombers.  The tanks+mechs+bomber attack options means that the Allies cannot place moderate-sized stacks within two spaces of the German/Italian main stack.  Russia ends up cowering in Moscow with a few minor exchanges each round.  UK ends up with a strong stack near Iraq, never daring to move it too close to the Germans.

Meanwhile the huge range of the German bombers give that power flexibility to find opportunistic attacks:
*Allied ground forces in W. Europe
*Allied ships in the Atlantic
*Allied ships in the Med
*Push into Siberia
*Mid-game Sealion or Egypt attack

I am not saying that this plan guarantees victory, but it allows League players to aim towards eventual victory in G13-17.  Most face-to-face games end up with a Moscow attack on G5-8 when the Axis players just decide that the numbers look close enough.  With the battlecaculator and more time on PBEM/PBF games, Germany can comb through the options every turn and patiently wait for the right opening with a big TUV swing.

With what? If they, attack both squares and you don’t scramble you’ll only have 3ftrs  a bomber a dd and a cruiser. That can’t take down 5planes and ships.

––There is a difference between Liberating and Conquering a country.

––Unless a “rolling the dice” combat takes place, it would simply be a re-enforcement of an allied country.

––When combat DOES take place and the Allied player wins,…then:

A. If the French DO control their Capital (Paris), then control of the country would be turned over to France. (Liberating)
B. If the French DO NOT control their Capital (Paris), the victorious nation would now control the territory. (Conquering)

––Basically,…in order for the USA, UK, or USSR to gain control (and income) of a French territory they have to have a COMBAT with an enemy force,….they can’t just “walk in” as that would simply be re-enforcement of a French territory.

If memory serves, Anzac is one move from Brazil (from NZ).  I’ve seen it done, it really didn’t change the outcome though.

It’s two moves.  Once in a while I’ve had ANZAC take Brazil, but never with an eye towards having them spend the money outside the Pacific.  It feels like a bad idea to do so if Japan hasn’t been neutralized yet.

The “only” is implicitly on page 20 of the Rulebook, as that is the only place in the Rulebook that taking control of an allied power’s territory is mentioned.  In the absence of any other rules regarding taking such control, one may assume that it’s the only way it can be done, since no other provision is made for doing so.
