made pretty standard assumption of no scramble sz 35. your are welcome to redo it to your satisfaction.

Really bad results for me in that German turn, no hits on AA, no hits on any russian unit and the outcome of sz113 was not what I hoped for.
I will ungraciously accept all luck, as it is the only thing which can stop my dumb moves from causing rapid oblivion to my side.

I posted the map with the edit already.
How is your game vs malmessi going? Be very afraid ;)
-
@cds
Okay, I had a look at the Japanese. Going to declare war, but having a hard time figuring out how/where to send the warships and transports. Overthinking where to best put the carriers for scrambling benefit, trying to see where counter attacks could come… :confused:Me and malmessi are still on turn 1. I think I have the edge in operating TripleA, I think he may be a lot more experienced than me when it comes to the game though. Have you played him before?

Yes, I’ve played malmessi hundreds of times… I cant remember in which year we started, but we played many games… Mostly G40 and Pact of Steel and most recently Path to Victory… He is a nice and good opponent to play against… You can learn much from him, he has unusual idea’s which sometimes can create a huge menage to the game you are playing and think you have under control, but still dont :)

@cds Ah, sounds he he knows a lot more than me about TripleA and A&A, just the playing by forum he is getting started with. Are there a lot of games played by people using means other than this webiste? I’m new to the community so don’t have a feel for it.

Oh yeah, you have play by email or online play and of course play by forum (like we do).
When I started playing it was first by pbem, later I started playing online a lot. I’ve tought a lot of players online how to play G40. At first I was unbeatable, no matter which side I played. I always got the capitals I wanted. Then they started using bids and they got bigger and bigger. I played so many games, that I eventually got bored with the game (G40) because there was nothing exciting or new about it anymore.
Thats why I am very pleased with Path to Victory, it gives me that learning experience again and doesnt let me win easy (I havent found a good strategy yet that is a sure win).

Yes, malmessi is very experienced with triplea and A&A. It was also a learning process for me when I started at this forum. Once the triplea settings are correct its self explanatory.

When I started playing online it was a small community, I guess that on a good day there were about 30 people online. Now a days there are around 100 players. You can play almost any game imaginable. From the classic A&A to Napoleonic empires. You can download all these maps on triplea or find them online.

Wow, that’s impressive. I still have a lot to learn about G40, but I do enjoy PtV, the marines and extra scrambling and new map do open up new tactics. Manged to pluck up the courage to do the Japanese combat. I’d say your US fleet was well positioned, as even without a harbour it seems to be able to give a lot of cover to key locations.

I am always in doubt about the U.S. turn. I dont have a good feeling about it so far. Its a nice position, but I am playing pretty conservative at the moment, without any risk. I dont know if thats the right choice, perhaps Ill get my ass kicked because of it.
