    Sigh, what a terrible dice in this game :(

    At least the dice are giving you a decent game in this, you’ve already landed in force on Normandy and my army, air and navy are only just starting into Russia! I’m at a similar stage against @malmessi74 but he’s Axis, Italy owns the Med and North Africa and the Germans have a massive fleet off Gibraltar! :anguished:

    I appreciate you guys taking the time to play against a beginner though :+1:

    I thought you might fancy that one, wonder what you are planning to do with all those planes…

    You would have won that battle, so its not in my best interest to defend a unarmed trn without any prospect of saving it and losing ftr in process of doing it. Planes are always usefull in either defense of offense, sooner or later Ill need them for either one of them.

    Dont worry too much about the fleet at GIB, you have two nice fleets yourself with us/uk. You have the basics down, its just a matter of getting a overall strategy up and running, so that even with a few set backs here or there, you can manage to win the game.

    @cds 2 fighters… of course, you have 2 carriers. I had assumed only 1 fighter of the 2 could scramble, forgetting to look at the number of carriers. Oh dear, that takes it from a 85% win chance to an 85% lose chance. :worried:

    Yes, I wouldnt do the landing (in full force) if I couldnt keep it against a counterattack. I knew it would be 85%, thats why I was (a little) bit surprised this morning, I figured you could win, but with perhaps 1 unit remaining, that would be a ftr or so. That would have meant that you could have destroyed the landing party, but I would still have the territory. But with 4 hits on the first attack, I am not afraid of the 15% now ;)

    You should always look at what your opponent is transporting, act accordingly in response. Either have your airforce back in time, or build up enough units in france/west germany for the counterattack. The landing is dangerous and expensive for germany, seeing it has lost the bonus for holland/normandy and because now you have to spend a lot of money and forces to retake it, which were of better use in against Russia.
