We decided to create a new set of Tournament Rules for general use in all Wiking-Cons as well as the 2026 World Championship.

This set of Tournament rules is described at the “Events” thread, inkluding the Wiking-Con Tournaments.

it’s one of those things where you have “12 IPC’s left” and someone is wanting to build ships but dont just want 2 subs

@midnight_reaper that’s a cool idea and I might have to try it. However I don’t like the idea of getting advancements for free, which is why I like some sort of facility to buy. Since the G40 R&D board seems to have the better advances on one side I’d say you have to roll a 1-4 to get the 1 column, and 5-6 to get the second. Maybe even through in an added cost to get 1-3 & 4-6. But again with that, I think countries should have to build the facilities in their capitol instead of anywhere and starting with them.

These rules are part of the Axis & Allies 1940 Global 2E, House Rules Expansion.

These elite combat units bring a new dimension to the game, especially to the fighting on The Eastern Front.

It’s impressive to see how dedicated all our play groups are to these rules.

The feedback we receive is of high value to us - and inspires when new house rules are molded and prepared for play testing.

Here is an example of the formation of a Soviet Army Corps, for use with Axis & Allies Global 1940 2E: House Rules Expansion.

A Soviet Army Corps consists of 3 land based combat units + 1 Soviet Commissar unit.

The Soviet Army Corps is placed next to the game board - at the Army Board - and a marker that refers to this Army is placed in the territory where the Soviet Army Corp is present.

In this way, the units within the Soviet Army Corps is easily distinguished from other units in that territory.

Also, when moving - either during Combat Movement or Non-Combat Movement - you only have to move the marker - and thereby you save time and avoids mixing with other units.Soviet Army Corps.JPG

Air Transport planes will make it so much easier to get that Egypt NO for Germany.  In a number of our games Germany never gets that one because they have no transports in the Med (actually no naval presence period) and too often the Italians are using their transports too much to keep sending troops over from Italy to Africa to keep fighting the Brits and don’t have time to ferry over any Germans.  Plus, if the Brits have fighters about, then it can be dangerous for a German land unit just sitting on an Italian transport waiting to be ferried over to Egypt.  A lot of the time Italy keeps having to replace transports because of British air power and not enough naval protection.

If Germany had an air transport plane, they could wait until Italy captured Egypt and just fly a couple of guys down there then send the plane back to Germany.

German rockets in WWII had no military value except maybe for the allies. The resources the germans wasted on rockets would have been better used on more conventional military hardware. Their rockets were nothing more than terrorist weapons. If it makes the game more enjoyable for you to have a German NA for rockets then have at it.
