@barnee
Thank you - looks like that did the trick!
Robson (X) vs Kilroynothere (A) G40 YGTE - game2 revenge of the dice gods

@robson Yes, definitely another fun game. Like your opening move for Germany. Makes for some tricky decisions for the allies and gives you a lot of flexibility. Going to be fun. I’m going to try to get UKP done before I leave town, but might not make it in time.

definitely, but I have to say that all of America is nervous as well. We feel that NATO will be forced into this one way or another and then no one really knows what happens. Scary times for Europe and the rest of the world. Was really hope we were past this phase of humanity, but clearly we are not.
What terrifies me is the way the debate is going on in Germany right now. Our government which consists of the socialist, green and liberal party has changed long-term foreign policy by 180 degrees. In a glimpse the chancellor decided to fund the army in germany with 100 billions Euro additional to the 50 billions which we normally pay per year. There are also many poiliticians from the whole political spectrum debating wheather we should have a more active role in the war. At least we opened the border and distribute the ukrainian refugees in all states. Till yesterday we had 5000 refugees arriving in Stuttgart only. In Berlin which is the central point of entry from Poland (central train station in Berlin) there were already 50000 people mostly woman with their kids. I just hope that somehow the war will end but I have no idea how that should happen. At the moment it seems like Putin has extremly underestimated the Ukrainian forces and people. I am afraid he will escalate the war in a way that the Nato members will not be able to not intervene anymore. Tensions are really high at the moment.
-
@robson Wow! What crazy times we live in. It does all seem a little too close to the 1940’s, doesn’t it? Different original aggressor, but similar. Basic land grab mentality on Russia’s part. Appreciate your perspective and info on Germany’s stance. We simply do not receive good international news in the US. I really have to search for it. I also fear that NATO will have no choice but to intervene here soon.
I just got back into town and am catching up with work. Hoping to get my move in here shortly. Thanks for the patience and hopefully the game can be a distraction for you during these tense times. Keep me posted on Europe’s stance as it evolves. I’m very concerned and you guys are much more in tune to the actual situation with the refugees and how NATO and western Europe is preparing.

@Robson Very sorry for the massive delay. Got back from Spring Break and was swamped… well, still am, but at some point you have to relax a little and have some fun! Like your Japan and your G/I openings… Making for a very interesting game. You have forced me to purchase in Australia which of course I do NOT want to do. Good work.
-
@kilroynothere Hey Kilroy, finally back to the game. Hope you are doing fine. I hope to play a little more surprising as last time :-) triplea_37995_2jap.tsvg

@robson I do enjoy surprising and unconventional moves in A&A. Makes for a fun game. This variant I think lends itself to that!
-
@Robson Entertaining start to the game!

-
@robson Here’s the rest of round 2. Is it bad that I secretly want Russia to lose? ;-)
-
@robson … and with the file
-
@kilroynothere thanks and sorry for being late on this. Spend a week together with the family in Turkey over eastern weekend and the last week.
Hope you had a wonderful eastern too.

@robson no worries. Hope the time away was great. Clearly you came back with some easy thoughts! Germans in Scotland?!?!? That can’t stand!
-
@robson So far a fascinating game! Your Japan 2 really forced some compromises for UKP… Good stuff. Also forcing Britain into all kinds of decisions I did not expect to make. Of course, I broke my own rule by building an IC in Egypt! :face_with_rolling_eyes:
-
@robson Hey Robson, just checking in to make sure all is well in your world. No pressure, just making sure you received my move.
-
@kilroynothere Dear Kilroy, I am still here but less often. I have to spend much more time in office currently so my time is pretty limited. However the evil axis plan still needs to be unfold :-) Will continue latest tomorrow.
-
@robson no worries at all, and no pressure. Lately I have been working much more than I normally do. It’s a good thing, but it does put a damper on some of the pastimes I enjoy!
I like what the Axis is up to this game, very curious how it will play out.
-
@kilroynothere sorry for the additional delay. We had quite a
stressfull time the last days.triplea_37995_3jap.tsvg -
@robson No worries, Robson. I would not have been able to make a move the last few days. Just so happened I had a free night tonight so perfect timing! Hope things are calming down a bit for you.
Also, my family will be in Italy from July 2-25th so I will be forcing us to take a break. Hope you are OK with that. Really looking forward to seeing Italy again. Been 37 years!
-
@kilroynothere Wow that is absolutely amazing. Which part of Italy do you go? We go there pretty regularly as my first wife was italian and my youngest daughter wants to see her relatives there in a town called Fondi (right between Rome and Naples on the western coast). But it does not matter which area you visit in Italy you can´t go wrong.
Wish you a wonderful holiday there. -
@robson We are going to see a great deal of Italy on this trip. Rome down to Pompeii and then Amalfi coast with another American couple friend of ours. Then it is just my wife and my daughters up to Florence and then Tuscany. We end in Venice for a few days and then fly out of Bologna. My mom’s family is actually from the Naples area as well. Inland town named Benevento. We are very, very excited
