Nice to see people are using the admiral version of SCW and some of you get the choices that were made. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
And yes, Army of Africa were used as shocktroops. 3/3 vs 2/4 is still similar total value of stats but for a smaller unit size. The air transport can not be sunk. And lend lease an airborne with the Axis and Republicans need to take care of not being surrounded by leaving too many spaces empty. I would appreciate playtesting results. Designers can miss things in initial game testing. I am only human after all, don’t put the blame on me 😉
Proposed Naval Unit Color Scheme for GW 36 v3
-
Standardized Naval Unit Color Scheme
White – Transports, Attack Transports
Red (2) – Torpedo Boat Destroyers, Coastal Submarines
Orange (3) – Submarines
Yellow (4) – Destroyers, Adv. Submarines
Green (5) – Light Cruiser
Blue (6) – Coastal Defense Ship, Heavy Cruiser
Indigo (7) – Battlecruiser
Violet (8) – Battleship, Fast Battleship [Fluorescent Purple to distinguish from normal BB’s]
Black (10) – Heavy Battleship -
@hbg-gw-enthusiast I kinda do the opposite with Red as Heavy Battleships (and other advanced tech), after all the red ones go faster.
I would avoid using any colour which doesn’t sit with a nation’s colour scheme such as black.
So I use
White – Transports,
Grey – Torpedo Boat Destroyers, Coastal Submarines, Coastal Def Ships
Brown – Submarines
Purple – Destroyers
Dark Blue – Light Cruiser
Light Blue – Heavy Cruiser
Green – Battlecruiser
Yellow – Battleship
Orange - Fast Battleship
Red – Heavy Battleship, Adv. SubmarinesFor Carriers
Bronze - Escort
Silver - Fleet
Yellow Gold - Heavy -
@insanehoshi I propose counters because G36 has WAY TOO MANY UNIT TYPES. People spend all their time looking at charts to look up info. COUNTERS solve this easily with large 1 inch or .75 inch square counters. Of course nobody has made any to this point.
-
@insanehoshi I really like your Gold, Silver, Bronze color scheme for CV’s.
-
@imperious-leader You are free to do so how you wish, but when you’re rolling on a battle board that has all the info you want really, it’s not necessary I find. Furthermore I don’t want to toot my own horn, but ive only ever played this game 2.5 times and I know pretty much every unit’s attack and defence.
-
@hbg-gw-enthusiast Credit where credit is due, stole that from Panzer King.

@insanehoshi Is there anyone in the world who has put more thought into how to organize and add clarity to Global War 36?!? Man, that table of his is a thing of beauty!!! If I win the lottery, I’m gonna somehow top it, just to give myself an impossible dream…
-
@insanehoshi Yea i memorized 85 useless different unit types, but i was talking about new players, and also seeing the values helps calculate combat more quickly. With counters i can easily add in the 15 bonus unit types that are also useless.
