So I used the edit function to change my purchase. In general, the common etiquette would be to ask permission to do so first, and explain why. If you announce you are going to do it before combat, most guys are fine. After combat - well, the issue is it seems you might be changing it based on combat results - a big no-no.
This is a game for fun, so I didn’t think you’d mind. My purchase was one of my common buys for UK1 in global - forgetting this isn’t global, which really affected my NCM and I realized that the transport wasn’t great at this time in just the E side.

So do you use the battle calculator all the time? I do feel I’d like to be a bit spontaneous.

Not all - but probably most - and a lot when I am planning out moves. So when you post your turn, I will download it, save it, and then play with it off line, fine tuning what I want to do. I might even play through both sides out a turn, just to ensure that I am not moving out of position, and towards my end goals. Getting deep there, but that’s what I do - remember, I am pretty new, so I like to try out a few things before I commit.
A 2 inf 1 fig attack on a single inf, I wouldn’t double check. But a bigger battle I might - or when I have air power that can reinforce 3 different battles, I will use it to determine which one should get the boost from, say, 1 bomber, and which ones I will let ride with just the ground troops.
