@max334 Yes, if you are going to take Russia in the first place, you should fight to keep it. Japan is doing very well, though.
I mean London… if you take it, you should try to keep it as long as possible. And with Japan doing as well as they are, you could hhave likely kept it for 5-6 turns or even for the duration of the game

@max334 There is such a balance, and give-and-take. Yes, if you could have kept London for 5-6 turns, all the while with a production advantage, it would probably have been over, because then you could have built up and eventually dominated Russia. The USA’s quick and large response in the Atlantic hurt their position in the Pacific. That has allowed the Japanese to do as well they have in the Pacific. The Americans had to do well SOMEWHERE, and in this case, they were able to help return London to the Brits.
Another approach would have been to stay in the Pacific, hold the Japanese in check, and just fight to keep the Axis from overrunning all of the British possessions. Not a winning Allied strategy, in my estimation.
@owentoo Thanks for the insight. I was thinking about trying to take London for a second time, but I now see that holding it in the first place would have been much better… (easier and cheaper)
