    Are you sure?

    I interpreted it as just a faulty programming.

    If it does, then I wonder why there even are des as an available unit? It’s completely useless.

    Since this WaW is supposed to be a variation of A&A Revised rules (1942), I can’t imagine that a sub will still have a first-strike ability when an opposing des is present.

    Just having subs being able to block ship-movement is weird and I would say that’s a flaw in itself, although subs completely ignoring des is even worse.

    According to all available A&A-rules it does. It’s the main point of having destroyers around. Negates all special abilities of subs. I’m sure of this.

    I guess the main thing here then is to get some substantial clarity regarding precise rules for this specific version.

    N.B. I’m not trying to exploit rules or find some fishy loop-hole here, but trying to mutually figure out what is fair and correct.

    I believe the weird subs apply to the last sentiment. I’d say as well that subs shouldn’t be able to block movement, but that one we’ve played with in many situations, so better to keep it up for stringency.
