I’ve never considered doing both, but I really like how it’s laid out here.  If successful, Italy has effectively been eliminated from the game before they even get going.

I think the point is, all three of my opinions infer that Germany is waiting until at least round 3 to declare war on Russia.  Personally, I see no good reason to declare war on them before then anyway and, personally, I prefer to have Italy declare war on Round 3 with Germany maybe not even declaring war on Round 4…that way Italy can take the road and Germany can reinforce it.  That allows Germany to collect the NO for Russia and move towards Moscow.

the best Sydney strike I have seen is when Japan takes West Aus, lands planes on it next round, and sacks Sydney the round after.

All powers may roll for technology. China will only benefit from advanced artillery, if they have it. If China acquires an AA gun then that would be 2 other techs, rockets and radar. It sucks that the research token way is gone. In global we buy research dice, meaning if you lose, your money is gone.

So it’s back to the Revised edition way?
