How to make Pacific Conflict historical

We use the houserule, that Axis has to win or is to strong on turn 10, then they win and otherwise they lose.

I do mean the US should not build anything Atlantic side unless the Axis are contesting the waters. Yes of course don’t let Germany or Italy sit on Gibraltar and threaten stuff they shouldn’t Otherwise, when where Japan is knocked out with a 100% US effort I often lose. When it’s like 80/20 spending by the US or going full blown Europe side, I’m more likely to win them. It’s way easier for Germany to spam a bunch of infantry/ mech infantry and bombers and cover everything while still building for like a round 10 Moscow.

Whereas a hard effort against Japan from the north by Russia and everything else is really hard. Their planes can’t be everywhere and they don’t have enough ground if the allies just keep shoving everything. Come play me on triplea sometime.

Russia and the UK can hold Moscow and the Middle East long enough for the US to get Japan in check and then switch their builds at that critical moment.

Playing the allies is really hard and the timing has to be practically perfect.

I try to remind myself that A&A is a strategy board game with a WW2 theme… If I expect it to be a WW2 simulation type game, I’m gonna set myself up for disappointment every time.

I see a few problems here, depending on when Japan declares war.
J1 DOW: Japan will sink the SZ35 ships and take the Philippines before you can do this.
J2 DOW: While the US ships are probably safe in SZ54, Japanese naval presence will be such that you can’t safely move to SZ42.
J3 DOW: in this case, Japan will probably sink the US ships in SZ42 and may well take Java.

With a later DOW (US3, because there’s no reason to postpone it), it could theoretically work if Japan has already taken FIC. But with no early Japanese DOW, Japan probably won’t do that because it would lose the 10 IPC NO. So in that scenario, Japan would need to take FIC on J4. That implies the presence of at least one Japanese unit in FIC, which would have to be defeated by the single US infantry you’ve brought.
Even if Japan had already captured FIC earlier and then vacated it (not very likely, because it’s a popular spot for Japan to build and IC of its own), they could easily kick the US and the British out again. Though if I were aware of your plan as Japan, I would happily wait until the US kindly built that IC for me to capture……  :-D

I always leave my jap fleet off the Philippines. You can hit so many places. there is an already built naval and air base ready for you. it makes it harder for ANZAC to support UK on the mainland. plus if you build a second fleet in japan, this will split the americans attention, because then they will have to defend Hawaii, and attack you. also when i take dei i also take western Australia, anzac never have land troops there, plus it will cause them to spend more on land units instead of navy or air.

I think the best bet for Sealion would be to risk it by attacking both BB fleets(since the UK will also lose massive air) and building a CV, which adds 2 planes to coastal defense. However, the extra infantry makes it more costly than it was OOB.
