That should not have happened. At least, not to my reading of the rules. We might need a clarification as to if that was supposed to happen, and if so, why? The only effect on capturing an IC that I know of is that Major’s are down graded to minors. Minor’s are just captured, and can be used the following turn. I post on questions forum.

You’re good for Japan. Those IC’s being destroyed is correct. I found the rule, 1940 Pacific rulebook, page 10.
“If a Japanese industrial complex is built on a Chinese territory and that territory is later recaptured by the Chinese or liberated by another Allied power, the industrial complex is removed from the game.”
And as neither of us knew that, we might also not know that “China is not subject to Convoy Disruptions.” The very next line in the rulebook.
That is very interesting rule indeed. Nice dynamic to it.
