Keep in mind I’ve only played this game twice, and both of those games were 2 years ago.
@mainah sometimes it goes like that…one side of the board turns out better than the others. In europe you lost a turn of advancing when you didnt move your italian armour up from greece to be in position to can open for germany. If Italy takes the space germany will walk into then the german air can land there to stiffen the defence. You have a decent income now with germany though and will be able to advance next turn. Western allies have a good position but not many pieces on the board to really hurt germany or italy…we will be nibbling round the edges looking for soft spots!
In the pac its all to play for…japan on good income, the indians and chinese prevented from joining and the US out of position. So lets see if you can capitalise on it!

You are going to take the carolines. Nothing i can do about that. Anzac is about to convoy the crap out of me. Or make SZ 33 an insurmountable fortress, followed by convoying. I bought too many facilities for a J2, instead of another carrier or 2 that is needed. Should have stuck with J3 instead of reacting. I’m posting to myself like trulpen in the learning game. My wife is commenting on my comments and muttering. Consolidation is needed in china.

@mainah Oh we never want to make life easier for the yellow peril! But yes if you buy facilities early it has to be to follow the crush India plan which means keeping US away as long as possible as they will start to match your fleet pretty quickly. You still have massive air superiority though…

Excellent placing of the japanese fleet and air…even though sz6 is open I couldnt sit in it due to the amount of air and fleet you had that could reach. Couldnt take the caros as your fleet there was too strong to attack with the scramble, had to skulk back to hawaii and await reinforcements. Well done!
The downside is that it left the DEI open to attack and let the Indians and chinese move forward again, but that couldnt be helped. Japan cant fight everyone at once until forces have been built up, but that huge air force does allow a lot of flexibility in shifting to the most threatened front.

Yep and yep - I could not have made much progress on China, and the DEI would have tied up ground forces and still not have a great defense if I had concentrated that way. Felt it was time to consolidate those two fronts, acknowledging you’d advance a bit, and so work on holding certain areas, and preparing for the retaking of the ones you grabbed next turn. The us fleet just had too may good options, and all leaving good options for the following turn - I knew I had to concentrate there.
DEI/China theters I had figured out in 15 min. The fleet movement I had pretty much figured out the next day - it was the purchase that took me forever to nail down. We’ll see how that treats me going forward.
