Please use second post, one edit. Used an extra ground unit in 2 battles that I normally gamble on, but couldn’t risk. Dice favored me, few Allied hits and low convoy damage. Giving up valuable northern China coastal, but well positioned elsewhere. Even with 82 to spend, I didn’t have enough to build SE Asia capacity in ground troops or more DDs to sink your subs.

Early on, Japan made the cardinal sin or letting China and India link up in Yunnan. Taking out Russia first has hurt with Burma road giving China more cash and art. Except for China, which can build anywhere, even on newly recaptured land; allied troop builds or inflow will be minimal for a while. Russia can’t send any more and would take many turns. UKPac, after 2 rounds of SBR and capture, can only build one inf next turn and no more than 2 mech reaching Yunnan before UKPac16. Brit mobile army took many turns to build up and reach China; and recent advances by Germ and Italy make more planes unlikely. Which is good for Japan, since its income is back down and can’t build enough troops and transports. The Axis can put up a stiff fight, but all those turns of lopsided income make an Axis victory unlikely.

@FMErwinRommel yeah tbh I cant see an axis win from this position…although an allied win will be a long grind with such a strong german army.
An axis pac victory from here is almost impossible I would say barring some MARTI disaster…jap income is going to dive and replacing losses will be expensive although it is possible you will force the brits from india for a bit.
To get a euro vic you need moscow and either cairo or london…again from here tricky…you can get moscow eventually but your losses will be high and you then have to either control the med to get troops across to egypt or force your way through a strong UK ME army without much help from the japanese. London is unobtainable to hold i would say with a powerful allied navy to block the channel and a large US army to retake it.
But thats my view…I could easily be looking through rose tinted glasses and will fall prey to a cunning plan…Its happened before!! -
Actually, I am mildly pleased with the Japanese situation. I expected that India would have to stay put, since the IJN could reinvade; and leaving enough troops to garrison India would leave too small an army to safely re-occupy Burma. I knew that China, with art, could take the coast. But that would spread out its forces and lucky for me, all my defenders hit, including against the UK in Manch. So I can pick off the spread out invaders. I had built enough CVs and subs to sink the allies in Caroline and remove the threat to the homeland and surrounding areas. I can’t protect the south, or sink those pesky subs in convoy lanes. But China no longer has the Burma road and China is wide open. Haven’t analyzed the European/Med situation yet, but I was afraid that my build up of Luftwaffe and subs would scare the Allies into SZ91. Didn’t expect into the Med. Italy will be hard pressed to guard both coasts and I see the Brits built all subs in Egypt. I would hate to lose the Italian fleet. Will look at Italy now.

Had to take another fighter. That’s 3-3 for you with defense of 5. If it wasn’t for blocking, I would have used a sub without a DD.

You didnt need the dd to attack sz 93…you could have gone in with just subs and air and moved the dd in ncm…subs cant stop movement.

I didn’t think of that, would have saved a fighter. I needed both Italian fighters to put 6 Axis planes in each of N and S Italy. Fighter offense isn’t much greater than DD defense.
