@FMErwinRommel Once the channel has a strong fleet it is a head ache for germany…lots of garrisons needed against a big range of movement and extremely costly in airforce to kill…which guarantees russias survival for the time needed to rebuild air.

I put the max units I could spare from Bry, so your odds are poor, but battle calc said I should of had 2 1/2- 2 3/4 units left, not just a plane. Operation Barbarossa resumes after an intolerable delay.
Russians lost 8 troops, UK lost 5 and Germans lost only 6 on the Eastern front. I had to abandon my Ukr I.C.s for the moment, but you can’t build much either and I think my advance will cause major scrambling by Russia and UK.

I wondered why the U.S. put DDs by two isles, until ANZ took Sum. I thought it was an expensive way to prevent me from retaking it. But both blockers hit, so was worth it for you. I would have taken a hit on my BB, but the primary threat is from the air, so I took a sub. I moved my fleet closer this turn and brought reinforcements. But protecting both fleets from waves of attacks took a lot of planning. The fleet off of Malaya can be hit by 3 successive Allied attacks. The best defense is a strong offense. So I’m hoping to take advantage of the UK’s aggressive advance. Didn’t expect to buy a plane, since I have so many, but had limited options with Japan home waters so poorly defended.

@FMErwinRommel Well in one way my plan worked…I wanted to draw the jap fleet away from phil to allow the US to take the caro’s but I hadnt thought about the corollary that India would then be vulnerable to attack! Still…the allied stance in Yunnan for so long has seriously slowed up the japanese land advance and a powerful US fleet in the caro’s gives many options in the pac for next round.
I’m disappointed though that I haven’t been able to turn the large economic lead that the allies have had for many rounds now into a military advantage…the only positive is that as long as the allies aren’t actively losing they are technically winning! :grimacing:
