@FMErwinRommel Had to put some money in the atlantic this turn…but as you say…japan under pressure so allies can switch focus a little. nice to take 2 tts out and with ANZAC and US tts arriving in theatre there will be some island swapping ahead!
My playing style prefers the allies but without a healthy dose of luck I still feel the axis will tend to win in games between players at the same level. But having played adam in a marathon battle where I actually got the axis ahead in income but still eventually lost shows an excellent allied player can prevail. Just not often!! I am still searching for that killer strategy but it often comes down to not letting japan explode and not letting germany into cairo!

Even though most of my solo defenders failed to hit, it was great that the Japanese infantry took the U.S. bomber down with it. But another bomber arrived in Aust, sigh. The Allied fleet move to Gib gave Italy some breathing room to make an offensive move. Having previously built a rare second bomber helped.

Jap defending on point against the aussies…I’m glad I took the extra tt to java, was debating it…
The stiff defense in Java gives me hope of taking it back this coming turn rather than the big negative swing in income from having to wait a turn or two. My poor subs couldn’t escape, under threat from east and west. At least they took a sub down with them. ANZ keeps building those pesky subs. Well, at least you didn’t build another tt. You are running low on amphib troops. Pacific isle battles are hit and miss because the attacker often can’t depend on air support or bombardment. And with small troops numbers, one side or the other can have lopsided dice. With big land battles, results tend to even out with 50+ dice.

@FMErwinRommel no…ill let my aa shoot you down…about time I had some luck with that!
2 AA hits, only expected one. At least I did 18 damage, but that’s less than the cost of my downed bombers. Worse, I attacked Rostov expecting to kill 3 and lose 2 and retreat after one turn. I had bad feeling about the risk. Didn’t want to win and leave tanks there. But I didn’t want to have Rus inf attack Ukr with air support. We both gave 4 hits. I pressed okay too quickly and AI chose to save a tank instead of a Tac. Will edit at the end. That was costly. I didn’t want to lose Germ units to UK troops. That increases Rus odds.
The new 2.0 version decided which bombers took AA hits, I would have taken the bomber with the least remaining movement as a hit. But AI said one survivor only had 1 movement point left. If you agree, I will edit to allow that bomber to join the others further west.

@FMErwinRommel I do dislike mass bombing raids on major ICs… AAs always seem to get 1 or 2 and even with max damage if you lose 2 bombers you are 4 ipcs behind.1 on 1 bombers against minor ICs seem to be better risk for reward as they tend to be more front line factories and an average hit will put it out or nearly out of commission.
Good result for russkies in rostov as well…taking 2 armour and an art out for inf losses is well worth it!
