Playing a game on saturday and need help with German Strategy.

1. Yes, assuming that the sea zones the transport loads in and has to pass through on its way to offload are friendly and the sea zone in which it offloads is either friendly or is made friendly through sea combat.

2. Yes.  You may fight as many battles as you wish on your turn.  However, all combat moves must be completed before any combat begins, and each unit may fight in only one battle (although air units may be fired upon by multiple AA guns along their route, and units on transports may be indirectly involved in a sea battle before offloading for an amphibious assault).

Hurts that the Axis start with 12 fighters, 2 bombers between two nations, don’t it?  (I’d count the allied ones, but most of those are destroyed on Round 1. :P)

I believe the trick is to force the Axis to break up their fighter formations over multiple territories, OR, attack territories with AA Guns.  Though, I am always happy when I can take ou German Panzers even if I cannot get their Stutkas.

I would like to thank everbody for their input on this topic. I think I am gonna give a try in my next game.

My axioms are:

1st Axiom  Don’t do something stupid.

2nd Axiom If you did something stupid, don’t do it again.

3rd Axiom If you’re still doing the same stupid thing…STOP!!!

4th Axiom If you can’t stop doing the same stupid thing, lock your game up in the closet.

I’ll admit to the first one for sure.  Although, my mistake was more… an oversight than anything.  :-P Which, of course, cost me the capital in the second round, from whcih I was never never never able to recover fully. :-o

If things are going to hard for one party…
try restarting the game :-)

If you’ve made one mistake early in the game, it’s possible you will see the devastating effect of the mistake you made some turns later…

apparently, your allies did not work as ONE team…
I believe that’s the first and best strategy to keep in mind!

I downloaded the Battlemap 0.79f program.  It accounts for various versions of the game.  I never bought the AH version to verify, but I will assume the starting positions are without error.

Sink the British DD, then land an infantry and artillery in Anglo-Egypt as well as bringing up the units in Libya. If Russia sends a fighter to Anglo-Egypt on his first turn, then I would suggest sending the bomber from Germany.

edit: or fighter from Balkans or Ukraine.
