Actually, I’d prefered to keep the bs with only 4 hits. I’m thinking of what choice I would’ve made before knowing the return fire and battle outcome. Keeping it would give an incentive for another round and more german air lost. I’ll edit.
Especially since I can sac the french fig.

Certainly a risky one but it worked out this time.
If my sub had hit in the second round it would have been for little - other than forcing another round I suppose.
Why no scramble in SZ111? Hoping for a 1 round wipeout which can then allow the BB to be sunk?

Yes, and also terrible odds. With the scramble in 110, I wouldn’t have any power to sink a dmg bs. Well, it’s all a gamble.
