We can perhaps play two games simultaneously then? I really want to get another shot with Axis against you. This game was unbelievably frustrating. :)
I think I played pretty well and that luck followed me. I am content with it.
-
We finish the game with Allies having 258 PUs, UK (with UK Pacific) being the strongest nation (TUV), and almost 1000 TUV difference between Allies and Axis.
-
I must congragulate U and thank U for this great game and Ur sportmanship.
It was a joy playing it. One player had to prevail but I am sure U ll get Ur points too.
This was my returning game, havent played in 2 years, and I think I ve managed pretty well, especially against U as really strong opponent.
-
I must say a didnt realize before how big threat to Middle East and India can those mechanized German units stacked to a pile do.
Also Japan even when seems so strong, if carefull pressured on several sides, can be very weakened with time.
Russia endured much more that I thinked it would.
Playing France was a joy to me.
I had make tactical oversights/mistakes considering China/Siberia when i allow U to destroy my airforce at Kansu, sneak with Japanese tank from there, after I attacked Manchuria with Russia and nullified the Mongolian treaty effect.
U played so focused, offered me no easy takings, I ve got my first Chinese guerrilla in rd 16, ok thats to thank to my agressive China play too, but still.
-
I ve learned during this game that it is true allies have a better ground in close battles since they produce more money and a slight minus after a battle in TUV units destroyed often isnt such a big problem for them.
U can combine that with the defender has to pick to casualties first and it can be a powerful tool.
What are Ur impressions of the game?
I must say Germany, and especially its navy gave, me big troubles
-
We ve played 18 rounds in 17 days. Impressive.

I agree with your evaluations.

Do U have some of Ur own?

With normal attrition I think Axis would’ve persevered. Lost about 500 TUV on crap.
Like I said before, it’s not to degrade your effort. You are a very good player and put serious pressure on my position in multiple directions. Still, I feel that with dice rolling more according to probability, there could’ve been more counter-pressure.
Like when I lost 4 mech in Persia against 3 inf and 2 sb. You had 1,33 likely hits and hit 4. One of many examples. I counted on losing 1 or 2 mech and that made the difference of continuing to attack or the need to withdraw. And Japan in China and Pac was just insane on too many occasions to count.

Well I Can say the same just for sea battles. If it went on average, the axis would be broken sooner.
Thats the thing with dice, we must accept it.
The dice server is now pretty good comparing to previous years IMHO.
I was at times thinking to play LL but i didnt start to play that way, since there is no fun as, with dice.
Japan would last longer with better dice, but Japan wouldnt crack Chinese. The pressure in the Asian mainland after taking Korea was to huge IMHO.
-
I’m not so sure. With say 15 more land units (income included) I think Japan would’ve cracked the Chinese no sweat. Korea is a tough nu, but with control in the south it could’ve been taken care of at an appropriate time. The problem was that I could never seriously threaten the key square of Yunnan.
-
There were two or three big sea battles that went Germany’s way. Most of the small ones went the Allied way.
-
Thats my problem maybe, i dont remember the small ones, i count its ‘normal’ to have any result when there is 2-3 units involved xd

Yeah but in big ones tuv difference can be 100. In small one its 4 or 5. But yes 20 x 5 = 100.

Like when I failed to take control of sz112 the first time with more than 80 % odds or you massacred me in sz6 with less than 20 % odds.

I had a bunch of subs in sz 6 and a strategic/tactical advance.
But in was late in the game wouldnt change much.
As for sz 112 I forgot to place AC there.
And i had bad rolls there before, its nice i got it back (not the entire tuv minus but still much). And i ve rolled 5/5 there remember so u passed even ‘well’ as u could P
-
My sub in sz25 had an amazing moment once. That’s it. 😉
Actually, I think the small ones are more sure. Atleast when you have +90 %. And I lost plenty of those.
With lots of dice almost anything can happen. Something which saved Germany’s ass atleast twice.

U can point that way, but its not the same to have 90% battle when u have units attackin on 4, and when u have those attacking at 2.
But nominally its 90%, but its unpredictable. -

But maybe i also lost some small battles. Not as, u but did. I didnt look and count
