There’s only one DD south of the Philippines. Not usually enough. I wanted to reinforce the navy with the one from SZ6 but it wasn’t possible.
I could theoretically have lost the one in SZ21 if you’d have attacked it with sub+ftr+tac but that would most likely have required the sacrifice of a CV. So I gambled that you probably wouldn’t do that or if you did it would most likely cost you.
I think I’ll need to use a CV without a DD in SZ41 next turn, which I really dislike doing. Or maybe a sacrificial transport. If I do the latter, then I guess I haven’t lost anything by not buying the DD - but I did from buying a harbour instead of a CV to strengthen SZ6.
Ok yeah, that was my guess, just lack of southern dds. Want sure if you were worried about something else.

I probably prefer attacking Malaya than Java+Sumatra. Getting Guam too for cheap was nice. Perhaps I won’t hold it.
I’m in two minds about that. Sometimes you regret not grabbing the money islands J3 but putting down the IC on Malaya can also be helpful.
nice not losing the transports and taking out Malaya is important. I think it was a good move.

also, i wasnt quite thinking. I wasnt thinking straight. I thought that if italy declared war then germany and russia were at war but that isnt the case and so you wouldnt be able to load your tt for a combat move, not that you were going to do one since I stacked Nov. But either way I would have put the cruiser in z115 to be protected by the russian air. Originally I wasnt going to stack Nov (see first post) and was going to use the cruiser to keep you from loading your tt, but that doesnt work since germany has to DOW russia (right?) and that means it can load tts in combat zones. Was confusing anzac/uk relations with japan with G/I.
Not a big deal, but if you dont care then I would definitely want the cruiser in 115 since it serves no purpose at all where it is. the sub is good though.

yeah, no need for it currently, and who knows when it will be needed. Airbase there is nice, but naval base isnt always necessary.
