@TheDude-0 Thanks for excellent reply. Noted and agreed on all points.
🎲😢 PRNG dice support group — and ranting
-
Well that’s why they now have stabilized dice so those things don’t happen anymore
-
are stabilized dice available for ranked games?

Custom games only last I heard.
-
No they are not as of yet. Nor do they allow ranked games in a multiplayer setting ( 4-5)
-
Not long ago, the first round of my 5 inf 1 art 4 ftr attack on 7 inf, I got 1 hit and he got 5. I bet that’s under .5% odds lol
-
@Imperious-Leader They still will happen, but slightly less often than 1 in 216 times, which is what the regular dice produce on average.
-
I know it’s probably just perception but I feel like some games I’m always rolling bad. Other games neutral, and a small few really good.
Without a “luck meter” there’s no real way to know for sure.
-
@djensen
Yeah - even MARTI does that some times. I play tested a turn out 5 times in local, lost 2 out of 3 bom on an SBR raid on each test - only to lose all 3 on the actual run.Sorry if this is slightly off topic, Marti vs PRNG. It’s a fresh wound…

Suppose there were a luck meter. How would you see it working, specifically?
-
@aardvarkpepper Doesn’t TripleA have something like this. Basically it shows you how closely all of your rolls are the average. Early in the game it would be fairly wild but, conceivably, by the end of the game the averages should be average.
-
WTAF?
-
So attacking fighter hit, attacking fighter never rolled (which technically it ought to have but eh), then defending carrier inflicted a hit that you had to take on the bomber because the fighter had disappeared? Does that sum up the screenshots correctly?
As to TripleA’s implementation of a “luck” meter, noted. I thought perhaps you had something different in mind.
-
I know I’m cherry picking but WTAF?
-
@djensen use stabilized dice only

@brian-cannon There is just something drastically wrong with the dice, and there has been for awhile. I have suspicions of a number of things but that there is something badly wrong I have no doubt. How units like infantry and artillery have such a dramatically successful hit rate on defense and conversely units that require a 3 or more have a god awful hit rate. The funny thing is as Axis on turn 1, my units defending West Russia and Ukraine never seem to hit a damn thing, but on subsequent turns on the attack I cant take Transjordan without suffering a casualty if I take it at all, or Japs attacking Anwhei turn 1, 4 inf and a fighter and I see 2 defending infantry wipe 2-3 attacking infantry, it just simply doesnt make sense and its terribly sad that there has been nothing done to correct the problem. Have the devs deliberately weighted the dice? Does each player have their own dice profile? Are players using third party programs to affect dice rolls?
-
@brian-cannon If you think hard about it or if you’ve ever played 6 games in one weekend, it might be closer to real life than we think.
When was the last time you did or wanted to throw your dice across the room? At the last Gen Con, I had consistently below average dice all weekend.
