There was a 20ish % chance that any of those 3 battles might go South.
I think my play is too conservative, I am never that aggressive as the allies…

Frankly, I do not consider this move very aggressively as the odds were very high and the transports will not be lost after this invasion and as I can still hold Normandy and reinforce next turn.
There were a lot of pieces that fit together in this turn to go for it. Let just a few parameters being worse and I play conservatively again, as I usually do, and I just take Normandy and lure from there.I think you simply made a mistake by giving me these odds under these circumstances and should have protected WGR better. Did you calculate the odds on a full-scale UK attack and decided to accept them or did you miscalculate or not calculate at all? (it is e.g. easy to overlook that the bomber from Egypt can reach WGR)

I agree with your assessment. I overly defended UKR and at the last minute changed my buy and placement and didn’t realize the UK bomber could reach…my decisions allowed you to make that move and it wasn’t overly aggressive…
