I will grant your edit of U.S. NCM to Gib, into a combat action into Mor, since it didn’t require combat dice. The end result wouldn’t have changed, even if UK would have had to take Mor instead. I’ve had an opponent deny a forgotten combat move into unoccupied territory on the grounds that league play is less forgiving. But your action isn’t going to change the game, so I’m okay with it.

I don’t know what to do strategically about the U.S./ANZ retreat to Hawaii. My 2 fleets could have overpowered you off of Aust. But a single DD blocker would have stopped it, at least for a turn. I could have combined my fleets, but you could have out-distanced yourself with the naval base. My homefleet was 3 ships and a transport. Certainly no threat to Hawaii. I suppose that since DEI were heavily guarded, there was no sense in you making unsustainable invasions.
There are drawbacks for Japan to concentrate most of the fleets in home waters or Carolines. Perhaps after this game or after the set of games, you might share your state secrets.
