Wartime Economy

Maybe it’s just me, but I think the penalty for Allies attacking neutrals should be way more severe. Like more money or money each time an ally attacks a neutral. Perhaps each Axis player gets so many militia units.

@Timothy-Gengarella the lightning war ability only provides an extra combat and non combat phase; Germany doesn’t get a whole second turn.

Hey there!

So, I have the V3 map, I haven’t upgraded to V4 yet. But I do know that the V4 map differs in some ways from the V2 map. I can’t remember specifically all of the changes, but there’s more territories now. There’s an extra territory each in England and Japan I know for sure, for example. and I believe an added territory in Norway as well. So while not a ton of changes, there are some that I believe affect the initial setup. I’m sure you could tweak a bit though to make it work if needed. And of course there’s the added terrain features as you mention. Funny you mention not liking the jungle terrain, I specifically bought the V3 map at the time because I wanted the added terrain features!

It’s been a couple years now, so I can’t remember our specifics, but I remember us using our V2 map and using the V3 rules and we just tweaked some set up and/or rules as needed to make it playable before we pulled the trigger on buying the V3 map.

Turkey has to be at war with a major. Every other playable nations with an income that scales has to be at war with a major so no reason for Turkey to be different.

I know. I said that if being at war with Abyssinia meant that Italy was at “war” and therefore received their “wartime income”, THEN Italy would have no incentive to attack. Because if they attacked and won then they would cease to be at “war” and would go back down to “peacetime income”. To counter this, I assume the creator made the rule that one must be at war with a Major Power to receive “wartime income”.

I believe “wartime income” should be changed to “Total Mobilization”, or “Total War Economy”, or something of the sort as to avoid confusion.

Heck, perhaps there should be three levels of income. Peacetime (limited troop types can be built), wartime (all troops can be built but you’re not at total war and don’t yet receive “wartime economy” or what I proposed to be “Total War Economy” income bonuses), and “Total War Economy” (you can build anything and receive wartime bonus income).
