Is there any way to buy extra miniatures?

maybe if you play with a rule that lets germany build naval units for half off. I’d be willing to do that as allies as long as otherwise it’s standard rules.

They would still be sunk in the first round. The best efect this would have I think is to possibly delay the attack on the german med. fleet and delay the Americans one turn from hitting africa or europe.

I was attempting to create my own game and I took a dowl to a chopsaw and then printed off some “army” pictures from a clip-art library on my pc. I glued the pictures to the small dowl pieces. I had a few extra dowls so I through them in with my A&A board game and now I’ve got a few “destroyers” and “Marines” for my paper edition of A&A.

I agree that it is foolish to buy anything other than infantry for some time, but I do like to strafe at the begining of the game; it allows me (Russia) to have some control over the front. Not feeling in control is probably one of my worst enemies.

Movement does play a large part in war today. Simply put, whoever can muster the most amount of forces in the least amount of time wins. Supply lines are just as crucial today as they were in Napoleon’s march on Russia. Also, the deployment of ground troops is greatly strengthened by Hercules transport planes and the helicopter. Land speed has improved with recon bikes and light vehicles. Sure beats, plain old marching that dictated movement before the invention of the auto and airplane.

War is still full of emotion. Have you seen, “Black Hawk Down?” If you haven’t, I suggest you do, it’s a very emotional movie – I have war vets that have cried after seeing the movie. However, war has become less glorified and less romanticized, meaning some spirit is lost. But compared to war, all other forms of human endeavor still shrink to insignificance.
