I am especially interested in this simply because of how this will affect my use of it in the A&A tournament that I run.  Being that it is a timed event for the individual games, I am curious as to how the extra need for naval units will slow down the Allies in building up for their attack into Europe.

I’d say it can slow down the Allies from 1-3 turns. It really depends on how many naval and air units G has at the start of G2. It might be enough to sink the AC and 2 DDs that seems to be the regular UK buy for UK1, depending on where they are placed. It also depends if the US landed on Algeria on US1 or not and how Africa is going for the Allies.

Guess the point is, find a dicey you like and stick to it.  I personally hate DAAK.  It’s the most flawed dicey program I’ve ever encountered, when applied to massive dice rolls.  For minutia rolls it seems to do okay at times.  (Like if you want to find the result for 1 infantry, 1 artillery vs 1 infantry, you’ll win about 70% of the time.)  but it’s those massive battles that seem to go horribly wrong for me or my opponent on DAAK that scare me from using them.  Almost always it results in 33% accuracy with attacking infantry vs 40% accuracy with defending infantry.

So yea.  Use whatever system you want.  I like FROOD and Flames of Europe.  But DAAK’s the most popular on here.  (Maybe that’s why I massively harder time winning games from AA.org opponents on DAAK then I do on any other dicey?  The tactics are almost identical, only the dicey is different, yet the DAAK dicey always throws the battle to the attacker, not the defender.  And I’m a very defensive player, usually.  I’d rather force you to attack me, then move out to attack you (other then for territory trading) if I can.)

Revised is sometimes also called 4th Edition.

Ezto, all the best players from flames-of-europe can play low luck.  When they’re ready to play with the big kids, they can come on down and play a REAL man.  Woman.  Small fuzzy creature from Alpha Centauri.  :-P.  I can understand the appeal of lowering the luck factor, but to me, luck is a vital part of the game.  You have to have, um, cojones, for lack of a better word.  Even when the odds are in your favor, there’s always an element of risk.

I prefer Revised to Classic, but I can see that classic has its points.  First, old dogs don’t like change.  Second, some people just prefer classic’s play style.  (Three dice for heavy bombers, that was the stuff . . .)

Your painting job is superb! But you messed up the Stuka, it wouldn’t have had invasion stripes. Those were for Allied aircraft that participated in D-day.

Personally I find Banzai to be one of Japan’s best advantages as it is. It allows them to forgo expensive art and tank buys and just use Inf for ground wars.

My group uses full NAs too BAGM; for Japan we did the following based on LHTR:

Combined the Suicide NAs into one,
Altered the Fanatical Defenders to "Japanese Inf defend on a 3 in the first cycle of combat when defending a yellow territory. Japanese Inf on islands are not subject to Battleship bombardment.

and are still playing out various “new” NAs. Our current option up for testing is “Total war!”, allowing Japan to build an unlimited number of units on its home territory.

I also come up with something of a new Fanatical Resistance (Dug-In Defenders):

Fukkaku Defenses
The Japanese introduced the tactic of endurance engagements intended to inflict maximum casualties. This tacic called Fukkaku included bunkers and pillboxes connected by tunnels.
All your infantry on islands and Japan are immune to shore bombardment and defend during the opening fire of combat.
