Does The Axis & Allies Computer Game (1998) Work With XP?

Hello all,
at first sorry for my english, because I am from Czech republic. I have problem with my Axis and Allies game. I have played about 65 rounds now and in this time game typing error message something as “LOG file is full” and is impossible to continue with playing game. If I choose Load Game and click on saved game, the game starts as New game (on start). Folder with save games (Autosave and my 1 save) has about 50 MB. Thanky you for help !! thank you very much.

Axis & Allies is the like Risk with more exciting battles combined with the financial investment challenges of Monopoly.

If anything you have more of the Axis and Allies pieces and chips than I do :D .

Thanks for all the great responses. I can see that storage options for the pieces are high on everyone’s list, followed closely by greater denominations for tokens.

It’s a shame that tooling custom plastic pieces is so complicated (and costly). I would love to include snapping boxes (like RISK used to have).

I thought was an interesting observation about the similarity in the brown pieces. I’ve never encountered any confusion, but I can see how it could happen.

(dezrtfish, I know what you mean about storage options. For AH’s ASL, I keep my pieces in hundreds of film canisters that I got from a giant film processing company in town. They work great…but are too small for A&A. Maybe empty peanut cans or large baby food jars would work.)

I just want to point out, that this even aplies if the transport doesn’t have to move. If the British want to use the Russian transport to ship toops to Norway, they have to wait on the boat for one round.

I think that if Germany falls, Japan still has a shot at winning. In one game I played, Japan had already taken Russia and was pushing into Ukraine and Kerelia. However, Germany surrendered to the Allies on the very next turn so it was USA/UK vs. Japan. If I remember the calculations correctly Japan was making around 69 IPCs a turn with UK and USA at 77. For about 50+ turns, trench warefare waged across Finland, Eastern Europe, and East Africa with Naval and Aerial battles raging across the English Channel. My God it was great!
