It’s probably my least favorite part of this game – other than just gentlemanly sportsmanship, I’ve never seen any way of setting up more of a balance in Axis & Allies between how comprehensive your mistakes are and how intense the punishments are – you can make a series of huge mistakes all over the board and wind up at a slight disadvantage, or you can overlook one ship once, and wind up at a severe disadvantage. It’s particularly bad in Global because the time investment is so high, so you can see 20+ hours of “work” go down the drain over a mistake that could have been corrected in 30 seconds. Odds are I win this game anyway, but there’s a sort of fussy, paranoid, detail-oriented attitude that’s really useful for winning at Global and that reminds me uncomfortably of real life.

Eh, that came out darker and colder than I would have liked. I have really been enjoying our games, and of course we’ll finish this one properly, and I probably will keep playing in the Global league – all I really wanted to say is that it’s frustrating when you get really big swings in the game based off really small decisions, for either side. Does that ever bother you? Have you found anything that helps?

do you want me to call it. i asked one of the top players if he could help me with what i’m doing wrong and he said he would be glad to. he wooped my but in 1 game about 6 rounds and said i hope you learned something and never played me in another game or even talked to me about what i could do. i’ve made a couple of comments to him and he pretty much told me he was busy. in a nice way though. I am sorry if i wasted your time but i like the game. your the second person that has scolded me in a couple of weeks. i donated top dollars for a very long time. my record is probbly a record amount of loses on here. not sure but i might make this my last year if i cant catch on. just let me no before i go if you want me to give you a win.
