    Can I attack the sub in SZ6 and still move fleet out of SZ6 without it attacking anything?


  • @simon33 I am not sure about the rules. I think you have to move out the non attacking units as a combat move. If you stay AND attack you can not non combat out afterwards, right?

    Technically, I can only move out units if they are making a combat move. So if I attack, I need to leave all the warships in SZ6. Transports can assault USSR. Not sure about BBs because they can bombard but can you move to bombard no units?


  • you can also move out units to avoid combat. I am pretty sure if you attack the sub all your units have to stay in sz 6. Why not ask @Panther


  • @oysteilo As the “Sea Units Starting in Hostile Seazones-Rules” do apply only in case you share the seazone with enemy surface warships, those rules don’t apply in your scenario.

    In seazone 6 Japanese units start with only an enemy submarine present in that seazone.

    So you are not allowed to move out Japanese units just to avoid combat. But you are allowed to combat move Japanese units out of that seazone, provided you comply to the combat move rules.
    You are allowed to go after the submarine with some units and move and keep out other units with valid combat moves at the same time. In any case no unit will be allowed to move during noncombat move phase, as they are either part of the sea battle in seazone 6 or have moved elsewhere during combat move to conduct combat there.
