    You can use xeerd@aol.com as my dice e-mail if you like. Personally, I don’t see the point of dice servers – I’m not going to cheat in a game that I’m playing just for fun, and I assume you won’t either. Still, if you want to use a dice server, you can, and if you insist that I use one, I will.

    And, yeah, lol, everybody always says I’ll regret not attacking the SZ 111 fleet. Some games I do, some games I don’t! The way I see it, if you wipe out both fleets with minimal casualties, you feel good. If you lose half the Luftwaffe and one of the British BBs is still standing, you have regrets. You’re open to the possibility of regrets either way; there’s no way to guarantee a dominant outcome on G1 – which is good, because otherwise the game would be pretty boring!

    Been a long time since I’ve bought an IC in Egypt UK1.

    Regarding SZ110 G1, you can send the 2 subs there instead of SZ91 to preserve a chunk of Luftwaffe. I think that’s worth it, but I didn’t always.

    Yes, but unless I get diced quite badly, I should have enough ships and planes left over to theoretically make another attempt on G3 – so you still might not have enough money to defend both London and Egypt – and if you want to actually kill the German navy, you have to pull your Med fleet back and give Italy another turn to play in the Med. It’s risky, but Karl7 says you’re the stronger player, so I don’t mind taking some chances. :-)

    Although, as it happens, I did get diced somewhat badly – statistically, that should have been somewhat closer. I also probably should have sent the destroyer ahead of the main fleet to block, and taken my chances with CA, BB, ftr against your 3 scrambling fighters. Oh, well – live and learn! I honestly didn’t even contemplate the possibility that I might have to make a G2 London attack; I’m sure from now on that’ll be one of the many things to think about for me in the opening.

    I’ve never seen the G2 Sea lion either. Interesting that it’s even possible with only 1TT bought G1.

    The battle went against you when it was more likely to go with you but it was hardly a radical outlier. 64% means 36% chance of lose/draw. Not exactly improbable.

    Yeah, I wouldn’t even bother complaining about a 36% chance, but I thought I had less than a 10% chance of leaving you with more than one plane. I took a closer look at the numbers, and it’s actually a very swingy battle: whoever wins it tends to win big. Shrug – now I know.

    I think the G2 sea lion was the result of a perfect storm – the German planes rolled well on G1, you moved your mech to Ireland (haven’t seen that before – is it useful?), the german subs won in canada, your entire navy went south, and you brought 2 infantry down to Morocco from England. I might switch up my standard G1 opening a little bit to take advantage of the possible G2 threat in future games – maybe move one tank from Poland back to West Germany so I can use it in the assault on London without having to buy one. I dunno; I’m not sure how often this kind of situation would really pop up.

    Anyway, we’re in J2 combat. Scramble in Guam?

    The mech to Ireland allows a second landing spot for US bombers in the event of a sea lion. That’s the theory anyway.
