I just saw a clear opening to raise the relative ipc distribution subject and had to take it hehe. It’s the one area where strict comparative analysis is always pushed “well territory A can’t be worth X since territory B is worth Y” etc. But with units people allow more flexibility. I only brought it up because the rubber band always seems to snap on ipcs, despite being pretty flexible everywhere else ;)

I made an important revision in red which affect the first two posts.

If playing 1942.2 without Airbase but with Tactical Bombers,
here is the condition to get escorted Strategical bombers:

_When StBs attack fighters on SBR air combat, **each get 1 A@1 if there is a Fg unit escorting.

The fighter unit have to be part of the SBR to give the bonus to all StBs attacking the IC.
This single fighter unit get 1A@1 preemptive strike.
The Fg unit can land anywhere else at the end of the turn. No need to return in the same territory.

**Non-escorted StBs group roll: 1A@1 for each StB or interceptor, whichever is less.

The @1 for escorted StB is like the actual OOB.
As it is for each intercepting Fg getting to fire 1D@1.

You get to choose in that case. If you choose armor, your attack suffers. If you choose infantry and you take, then you face the possibility of inadequate fodder for enemy counter attacks

I think you are still reading it wrong. According to the proposed system you get to pick the exact tech you want to roll for. Once you buy the researchers, it is only a matter of time before you get the tech (and only that tech). Due to the escalating nature of it, it should only take roughly 2-3 turns to get it. (1-2 for 3 or 4 dice) I honestly don’t mind playing with house rules. I am an avid fan of AARe and am not interested in competitive play using OOB rules or LHTR. I still like to play good people (I’d love to play AARe with axis roll or replay pagan sometime) I hope we can develop this rule set to get enough recognition to be generally accepted as more than one players house rule.

BTW anyone know what happened to pagan haven’t seen him since the WOTC board died?

Just let China go first and round up infantry production (5 tt = 3 inf). I would also say let them move into Burma :roll:

all destroyers and cruiser may fire an ASW attack roll or normal combat roll, regardless of submarine detection

in your example effectively all 4 ships can fire ASW attack roll at the 1 detected submarine

unless our German player is being too cautious, France has been very difficult.  At 15 IPC they generate 7 inf in their capital per turn.  I think Germany has too much along the Russian front for the 1st couple turns when Russia has no threat.

We will need to change Germany’s tactic and see what happens.

Germany takes Poland and Norway on turn one
On turn two they take Holland and finish off Norway
On turn three they send all their air force, armor and built up stuff and Frenchies have no answer.

You can even send the Italians in the south to finish the job.
