Hey NavySeal,
I have done the same thing. I am kind of a piece junkie so when new editions come out, I often buy several copies for all the pieces. Of course, then I end up with too many of certain things. Even with the unit sculpts. I will want a lot of infantry, tanks, artillery, planes, etc. but not so much with capital ships, even for US and Japan.
So, I count out what I want to keep for my own games and put the rest on eBay. Sometimes I might lump all the extras in a big lot or make up a bunch of little sets. There are guys out there that are even worse piece junkies than I am and my game pieces pretty much always sell.
As for the extra game boards, instruction books, cardboard accessories and dice, you can put them on eBay as well. Some guys out there have a lot of playing pieces but perhaps missed out on whatever game you are offering, or just don’t want to go out and buy a new one. I found the best way to ship these, especially with the game board, is to use a USPS Large Game Board Flat Rate Box. You can put all the game accessories in one of these along with some packing material to fill in the extra space and the USPS will ship it anywhere as long as it doesn’t weigh over 70 pounds. For shipping within the US, I think it costs $16.95. You should check usps.com to be sure. I don’t know about international shipping because I only ship within the US.
The MOST important part is to price these items to sell. Start low and take the shipping cost into account. If you start out with too high a price, you won’t get any bids and will be stuck with them. Even if your starting price isn’t too high, remember they will have to also pay shipping. So start low. You are probably not going to get what you paid. The object here is to at least make a little money back on your investment and provide some gaming materials to someone that can use them. Even if you just get the lowest bid, at least you get that amount for yourself and you get rid of the excess pieces.
Another option is to offer free shipping which can draw more looks at your items, but then you have to either start your bidding price to include the shipping costs or take a loss with the shipping charges.
Good luck.
We need an allied playbook.

@Argothair Hey, I was just wondering if you knew that I read your Russian strategy on Youtube under allied playbook game
-
@crockett36 Where is that link?

I’m having to adjust my strategic objectives. Previously it has been 1. Atlantic 2. London 3. Moscow 4. Egypt 5 Bombay. In that order. I’m considering switching to 1. Atlantic 2. Moscow 3. Egypt 4. Bombay 5. London. My reasoning is that if I have control over the Atlantic, London should be an easier rescue than Moscow because of the proximity.
Also, in my argumentum ad absurdum experimentation, I have tried abandoning Bombay. I’m playing a game right now with myself where I abandoned Hono and save Sidney and Bombay. I’m considering a game where I abandon Moscow. People say Moscow will fall to a Ger who knows what he’s doing. So why not try a game where you just don’t care. Instead you use the resources available to make significant gains. Just a thought. Worth a computer sim at least, if not a triplea game. I’ll call it my crazy ivan.
-
@crockett36 yeah, but you should not abandon moscow just because.
You should allways try to slow down Axis, so that your Allies are in Position to Strike down Axis or fortify key positions. -
just like to experiment. I won’t try that against you.
-
a non fortified Moscow has the advantage of giving the Jerries the impression it will be a piece of cake ergo they send less troops, other ventures seem promising, etc
remember, repeating the same mistake over and over and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.
-
@crockett36 I like the out of box thinking. Are you going to detail what the other Russian ventures are? I mean, we can take some good guesses…
-
Scandinavia! China, the Balkans through Turkey are my ideas.
-
does anyone have recommendations for screen recording software? mobizen is great for android. I’m looking for windows.
-
read a sticky about the Japan playbook and incidentally he said send Bombers to Moscow immediately.
-
Latest efforts at the playbook is to not worry about the allied income but knock the axis income down by strat bombing and convoying the axis income. By the way has anyone got America to 85 and how?

In BM USA can get over 100. OOB, you might require The Philippines and a couple of money islands. Harder to do it in Europe.
-
The reactivation of France feels like the worst thing that can happen. It would make the Western front worth it economically. Alas, we play the game that is, not the game that we wish.
Since math says the Philippines is turn 6 plus at the earliest, I’m going to stick with strat bombing the capitals.
-
@simon33 South America and Spain would get America real close…

@weddingsinger TRULPIN, DONT READ I keep hearing the refrain "against experienced players Russia will fall. against experienced players Bombay will fall. So I ask myself, what could Russia do really well and neither Jap nor Ger could stop. My answer right now is Scandinavia, China and keeping the Krauts distracted. It could devastate the Japanese efforts there and continue the flow of “free troops” into the region. I am combining that with US strat bombing of both capitals and convoying the Italians with the starter fleet, British Med/Middle East dominance. The allies might have game, so to speak. My purchases for the Brits and Americans have been carriers, bombers and fighters and 1 mech and 1 tank/turn for S.Africa.
-
lol. I love it.
I’ve been considering a few things like U.S. bombers in India taking down random Japanese soldiers who are solo in China (Balanced mod)
I will say that mechanized Russia works well against Germany if they do make a mistake about doing anything other than going after Russia. I’ll still working out the right mix of units, though.
-
@weddingsinger yeah, I did a huge air raid on Egypt and cleared the field for the Italians. On the other side, I’ve used planes from carriers off of w ger to hit the n Italian troops thus taking away the take back troops that rob the allies of keeping france.
-
The key is that the raid only last one round, kill them all and go home.
-
I am approaching the argumentum ad absurdum strategy atomistically. so the good news is that Scandinavia as a bomber and fighter base is awesome. it also depressed the enemy income via ipc loss and bombing raids. in this case, I purchased mostly fighters for England. this prevented the establishing of a german navy.
I did this in conjunction with an Italy crush. America makes a good deal of cash. the axis income is greatly effected.
