Italian position looked good after T2. U.S. fleet wasn’t strong, but Ger couldn’t afford enough subs and bombers G3 to sink it in sz91 next turn. Brit didn’t have that much cash, but had enough to build I.C. in Persia and units in S.Afr. With potential U.S. invasion and Axis planes not in position to defend Italy, I went defensive. No sense building I.C. in Egypt if it will get taken over by Brit in a few turns. So many more N.O.s for Med in BM affect my moves.
Planned on blitzing into Iraq with armor. But then realized that after I took TransJ in combat, I couldn’t move into Pro-Axis Iraq until NCM and I couldn’t do that because I already moved the armor in combat.
At least the Brit attention on Italy in Africa may delay its movement into defending Rus.
I knew about the BM garrison China rule. But was so preoccupied with the Rus and other potential threats that I overlooked garrisoning Cha, and that the planes in Hun don’t count as land garrison. I was lucky that the free China inf didn’t get a hit. -

The AA curse continues. 2 of 3 bombers > India were hit, odds were 1/2 hit. Inflicted 7 damage at cost of 24 PU. All other allied combat units missed. But the convoy curse also continues, as the sub did 4 blockage damage. Allies only needed 1 blocker to stop Jpn from attacking allied fleet in Aus. I needed 2 blockers to protect my fleet that lacked land air support. Allies sank 2 tt’s on their turn, so I only invaded 2 isles in order to preserve the 3rd tt, which could have given me all the money isles.

Terrible dice where I needed it and had 86% chance of winning. And overkill in the other battle. Egypt > AES more units and power of 19, yet I only rolled 2 of 7 and Brit rolled 3 of 6. In Iraq, I rolled 3 of 4, when Brit only had 2 units. The dice stats don’t look too bad overall, but they were bad where they mattered and better than needed elsewhere. Now Brit planes can land in AES, which hurts Italy next round.

The Pacific is so much more complex to plan for with islands, tt’s, planes on carriers and naval bases, than the land based Ger/Rus theater. I struggled to decide which planes to use to attack each target and where each would land to be in position for the next turn. I had to be so careful not to let one of my two fleets get sunk. while taking isles, yet protecting my limited number of tt’s, that I didn’t realize that the IJN was strong enough to make the allied fleet retreat. Ger will be simple in comparison. Jpn is starting to out produce Ger and more immediate potential than Ger.
