    Again, defenders hit far above average, where I needed them to miss and missed where it didn’t matter. I tried to recapture the 4 Rus border terr with a single land unit each and an average of 2 planes each. Each of the 4 terr were defended by a single unit, all of which hit. That’s 4-for-4 (1.5 expected). So I lost 4 PU and failed to block Rus tanks from moving into Jpn terr. Any units sent to guard those terr would be destroyed. Even the single defender in E. Persia gave a hit, reducing my defense on your counterattack. Only your DD blockers missed. Which wasn’t critical, because I attacked with subs, as I didn’t try to block you with my DDs. Jpn can’t afford to just trade unit losses. It takes 2 turns to move land units through China and the allies are outspending Jpn.

    When the empty Brit tt’s moved to the idle Brit inf in the homeland and joined up with the American tt’s, what was a minor threat is now a major threat from Norway to NorBor. Here’s where a modest Ger bomber squad on sentry in W.Ger, could have threatened the movement from the Med. The Italians could have moved 11 troops into Bulg this turn. But by the time they could attack Gre, the U.S. would have added more defenders and my chances were slim. Frustrating, since most are not mobile and can’t be in position this turn in Ger or Fra to repel any invasion. I couldn’t help but look at the 2 decisive, climatic battles looming for Japan: the fleet battle in the Pacific; and the land/air battle around Persia.

    Oh no, not the Fre joining the expeditionary force. Now I have to increase my counterattack strength. And you will have no one left in Brit. This game needs paratroopers to take out London. And paratroopers would really help the Axis in the Med to take the islands. ANZ with 2 CVs! I heard that New Zealand has more sheep than people, but now Australia has more CVs and more ftrs than people. And its only person is walking about New Guinea looking for cannibals and orchids.
