RAF made 2 mass attacks. I shouldn’t have gambled in N. Italy, as I had no ground troops to take hits. Attacked with 5 planes, killing defenders on first round. But of course, as usual, perverse dice, defenders went 2-2. In Kazak, where I had a tank to take a hit, the defenders went 0-3 & I went 7-7. Bat Calc said I would have a ground unit left in Shan, but defenders rolled well, leaving the road open to Malaya. Not a good turn.

RAF made 2 mass attacks. I shouldn’t have gambled in N. Italy, as I had no ground troops to take hits. Attacked with 5 planes, killing defenders on first round. But of course, as usual, perverse dice, defenders went 2-2. In Kazak, where I had a tank to take a hit, the defenders went 0-3 & I went 7-7. Bat Calc said I would have a ground unit left in Shan, but defenders rolled well, leaving the road open to Malaya. Not a good turn.
When planning my attacks I almost always plan on taking hits. For example in Khazak, if possible I would take in 2 land units just in case the defender gets lucky. I know you didn’t have the UK land units for Northern Italy, but same for there. Seems like the “dice gods” punish someone who doesn’t take in 1 more land unit. It’s not all about attack power and what the battle calculator shows.
Sorry I got so busy with family and work guys and had to abandon the game! How has it turned out?!? I can’t wait to see - downloading now.

Allies had liberated all of France and were holding okay, but D.A. just built max mech in Germ & other builds to reach France in one turn. Will have to abandon France. Just as U.S. finally got enough bombers to bomb Germ I.C.'s, its too late to save France. But Allies still hold a commanding lead in income. So we shall fight on.

I just looked at the details of the Japan attack on Burma. S.A., as usual, didn’t post the save game through Triplea, so the history log didn’t get posted,. And S.A. didn’t ask for OOL in Burma. Dawg took American & China turns immediately. So I only glanced at the results and didn’t/couldn’t challenge immediately. Japan attacked with 22 units & power of 48; the Allies defended with 22 units & power of 51. Battle calc had only 18% chance of Japan winning. S.A. used best defense, which is normally okay. But Japan rolled only 6 hits instead of 7 1/2 expected after AA loss. So I would have taken all infantry, mech & art before bombers, since their defense factor was so close but the cost so different; and based on the odds and poor first round attack, it was unlikely that I would lose. Therefore, I am editing to restore the UK & ANZ bombers & remove 2 UK infantry.
