I should’ve been more careful with my fleet at sz7, but overall, the result isn’t the end of the world. you did after all lose some precious air as well.

In the last round, had I brought all the German and Italian air in (and even built an Airbase and Naval base in Syria to bring the German units there to Gib), you would have had about 83% odds. So you really would have had nothing to spare (4 air less and your odds are 50%). Probably on those odds alone you would have gone for it, since even a bad roll should hit me hard and you would likely avoid casualties to your air in the first round. I opted not to do that because it would mean the end of most of the German air and because it would expose Italy and the med fleet a turn sooner had you still taken Gibraltar. And I hadn’t thought enough about what I would do in the pacific at that point.

But I wonder if you would have committed to an 83% battle in the Atlantic when you might need some of those units back in the pacific to block a pacific victory. I’m not sure if you would need them to block a victory but it certainly would have helped me in the pacific if in taking Gibraltar you had to pull all those units away from the pacific. And since taking Gib turns the game decisively (whether I try to hold it or not), I really had nothing to lose. I’ll still try to grab a pacific capital for a turn or two before conceding but I almost certainly can’t.

yah I had considered that as well, that you might try to force me to commit all out on gib to allow Japan better chances at a pac win. I had some confidence I’d be ok, but I didn’t do any deep analysis to confirm. so it’s possible that that may have been a better route for you. can’t say without a closer look.

probably your only real chance would be to try a pac win at this point, tho your Indian stack isn’t completely out of the woods yet, as I still have greater power in that region, especially if I got desperate and had to do a combo strike. and the Chinese also still have a significant presence. so it’ll be interesting what you come up with next.
