I should have put a sub off Borneo, to force ANZ to use a dd to make the amphib invasion and even then a gamble. Since Borneo was the only empty isle, it was the obvious target.

Hoorah, even attack/defense power favored the Germans, since every hit took out a 3 defense tank. Luckily for Ger, the Rus dice failed in the 1st round so the Ger’s losses were light and they kept their armor and planes. It’s amazing how many units the defense can generate when they don’t need to spend extra for mobility or offensive power, but just homeland defense. Works against Ger in the early game invading Rus, but for Ger if Rus invades Ger.

Dice are dice, if it had gone the other way I would be laughing! No matter, Russia is still in good shape, and Everything is offset by the destruction of the Italian army and the arrival of the allies!

It’s frustrating for the Axis that the allied amphib force is protected by such a puny fleet, yet Ger doesn’t have the resources to sink it. In my prior team game, I, as U.S. built 6 loaded cv’s and stayed by Brit air base to protect against Ger bomber squadrons of 15+.
