@karl7 Well fought Karl7. I’m only a little fish here in this pond, but I appreciated the innovation, trying to change the math by going for the neutrals. I’ve wondered whether S. American and Southern African money might be worth the cost and delay. Probably not.
At some point in time, we might consider amending the bid placement rules to spice up oob. Andrew has proved that the “central powers” ie those in the middle of the board have a huge advantage. Don’t get me wrong, Andrew. You are very good. But you choose the Axis for a reason. As a play tester, I know that skill is not the only factor effecting the outcome of a game.
So Karl, please don’t give up on OOB as hopeless, but push for change in bid placement. I have some ideas about that, but I’ll bet you do too.
well, I think I could beat a lesser player than Andrew, but he has it down to a science.
In the last couple games, I was able to get the upper hand overall, but then he skillfully just crammed one side of the board with both Axis powers for the win. It’s the winning move! LOL.
In this last game Germany was checked and we were closing in and Japan was dong ok. But then Germany dived for India leaving Russia free. So even if Allies could get India back from Japan it was hopeless.
Game before this (?) Japan was basically defeated but it cut and run for middle east and nukes everything in sight for the win.
That being said some of the games were just straight up Axis wins with no hope for allies.
