Axis D, allies, over JWW with a Moscow attack dicing……I think the axis, with moscow falling are in good shape to secure the win. Axis D and JDOW, both of whom I respect, say the axis are done for, regardless…

Interesting question. I think the European Axis are virtually dead. In spite of holding Moscow, the UK will take Stalingrad and Rome and probably hold both. USA will take W Germany but won’t hold it. It will also liberate France soonish and generally surround Berlin. Ukraine could be back in Allied hands pretty soon too.
Unless Japan can win the game before Berlin falls, I think it probably is over. Perhaps you could have fought it out to see if that is possible?

Maybe I am viewing this through rose color glasses? Axis D is being very aggressive now in euro w/the allies so maybe my optimism is misplaced. To answer your question my attack on Moscow failed horribly, I think 3 of 7 air was shot down and my 80%+ odds w/+20 units remaining turned out to be a complete wipe out w/a huge russian stack left over. So I conceded. I ran the battle two other times w/germans victories and the last run had perhaps +18 G units remaining and we have continued for fun from there….
Just never thought, with russia dead that the allies could push Germany and Ita around with just a USA complex in Greece and some UK complex’s in Egy/M.E…I obviously didn’t give the usa landing in greece the attention it deserved!

Well, I did not say the Axis are done but I said I believe the Allies have the upper hand, or in other words, in case I had to choose I might prefer the Allies given the +30 result on Moscow with 11 tanks + air remaining.
It seemed to me that Germans are too exhausted and that the Allies had too much going on in the Balkan and the middle east. There were so many ground units penetrating from Southern Europe and the middle East that I would have predicted the Germans would decline sooner or later.
I admit, my look on the Pacific was superficial. While it always looks bad for Japan to lose the DEI, Japan had a very strong fleet and was certainly far away from collapsing. I had the impression that e.g. US with 40-50 IPC against Japan + Anzac + India and USA at 40-50 against Germany + 50-55 from UK would sooner or later slowly wear of the Axis. Especially as I believe that, based on the huge armies US/UK had on the ground already, Allies could have invested their money quite efficiently as no fleet or transport builds were required in Europe.
But as I said: Certainly not in the bag for the Allies but I think they had the advantage.

Game went to round 29. Karl played the better game but made a few mistakes late that kept me in it longer than I should have been and then I made a mistake at the end that gave it all back to him. My last words were “I can’t believe this game is going to go 30 rounds!”

Yeah, I technically won, but Farmboy get’s the MVP this game. He caught me short about 5 time, wiping whole unprotected transport fleets time and time again… :-P

I consider my position as Axis very solid and believe I had the upper hand, but Allies certainly had resources and Axis needed to be careful.
