I would absolutely be inconsiderate of all my current opponents if I irresponsibly entered the 2025 OOB playoffs. We have yet to start the semi-final of the 2024 OOB playoffs 😳

Without Martin or me, but with @pacifiersboard, we have a perfect 8. And like @axis-dominion clearly said, @pacifiersboard definitely juices up any bracket he would be in.

Not required, but recommended - list what you would spend your bid on while you’re bidding. With high OOB bids, it can help a lot if you each knew what starting setup you’d be facing.

Likewise, the Path To Victory brackets set up very nice and neat, with all top 8 qualifiers participating. That’s the 100% dream scenario.

@axis-dominion caught on the game quickly, rocketing to #1 in about 1 years’ time (doesn’t he just make you sick?) but if he and @Adam514 make it to the finals, the numbers say they are a dead heat. Edge to the one who was on the development team, I would think

The eighth seed is an avid PTV player with a 1610 ELO rating, good for “Elite” tier status. What a field.
The winner of the PTV field would arguably be the top league winner for 2025 - it’s where the coolest kids are playing these days??!

With great infamy and notoriety, 666 makes himself comfortable in the, that’s right, 6th seed. He will have his hands/claws, full with ghostglider, believe me.

A little artistic license, you know I like to spice it up and hype the playoffs a bit on Jan 1! Pretty exciting, new year, new brackets, assigned matchups based on all-time ELO positions. If you’re offended, I didn’t mean it that way.

PTV brackets are set, so you can start bidding! Will anyone dare a bid bigger than -12?? I notice Adam for example has been going with -14’s and -15

Balanced Mod 4, we have an incredibly strong top 4, no disrespect to anyone. 1 - 4 have been household names around here for years. This is of course an opportunity for someone else to BECOME a household name, or at least start the long process. Good luck! You’ll need it!

Playoffs are amazing - everyone will lose except for 1, and it’s hard to imagine 3 out of 4 of these actually losing, even to each other.

Do NOT start a game in Balanced Mod quite yet.

We do have 9 entrants and I am absolutely not in favor of a play-in game here, unless you play for 1 round and winner is the one with more TUV 😂 yeah that was a joke. Although, if you bid 500… it would be close.

No one wants any of the top 4 to bow out, even if they’ve been teetering (like the wife or gf has been trying to discourage entry or something)

We have one player too many and if no one gracefully bows out, which you are NOT expected to do, then I will simply not be able to allow Zarhunter in because not top 8, and no one else to pair with.

PTV should be on top, is now most prestigious in my opinion

Only one has concluded within 1 year - the Balanced Mod 4 champion for 2024 is farmboy

A PtV final between @Daaras and @axis-dominion is on US10, and the semi-final for OOB has not yet begun, with @farmboy waiting for the winner!

Yes totally OK. If both players agree, you can agree to sides however you want.

However, if there’s not agreement, then the league “defaults” are there to make the decision for you. Even the league defaults do not specify bidding up or down, and certainly nothing about disclosing placements before bidding is over. I was just throwing in an idea now that OOB bids are quite high and some players prefer knowing what that +50 or +60 is going for before deciding. Thanks for the respectful question

OK, so panicked there, but we only have 1 playoff champion from 2024 as previously stated, and that is

Farmboy won BM

Therefore Farmboy is #1 seed BM this year. That makes @axis-dominion #2 instead of #1, and Adam514 #3 instead of #2.

Fortunately I didn’t hype up any of those matchups. Good luck facing the buzzsaws, boys

JDOW occasionally lurks, sometimes even closely following a championship game occasionally. I think he would be very difficult but not impossible to resurrect. A truly remarkable track record here, and did you see his interview with @crockett36 that I think is less than 1 year old? Some real nuggets of A&A advice in there, along with all the generally fascinating/interesting thoughts all around them
