I gotta be honest, we just had by far the weakest month since G40 was in its first year. In November there were only 6 games finished across all versions, and only 1 in the first 6 days of December. Maybe everyone’s taking a break at the same time, and/or maybe the games are more competitive and longer.
But there’s still plenty of action, and the playoffs continue to have VERY strong players in all 3 versions.
Classic has been added as a tracked league version of the game, though it doesn’t seem to have really taken hold. I’m back into Classic some, and maybe when I’m finally done with a big double elimination tournament, I’ll continually have 1 going. Pretty fun to return to the roots after actually learning the correct rules, thanks to resident EXPERT @The_Good_CaptainIt seems to me that the games definitely last longer, and PTV just boosted that up (which is not bad per se).

i ll rather play 3-4 high quality and competitive games, then 10 fast ones, one sided.
The high quality of the tournaments just proves that the interest in playing this game here over forum still exists :)
Tehnical part is also important, overall in this year the site worked fine , triple a is great, we have the community here that helps quickly about rules , some situations which players encounter and are not shure what can they do.
Respect for all of U that give their time for this great site and community

Someone signed up for the 2025 playoffs today, which prompts me to announce that
Signup period for 2025 playoffs is open! Check minimum games played rules - if you have a “playoff spot” ranking in the spreadsheet that means you’ve qualified already. Qualifications must be met at the end of 12/31.
Signup must be in to me by 12/31, if I’m creating brackets 1/1 you generally won’t be able to enter the fracas of
First round of playoffs all happening January 2026!
Best way to sign up is private message me because your post on the forum could be overlooked

The filter was on, so it wasn’t full.
Select “filter views” up there at top right and select “all players” or “only active players” and you should be there. -

After the holidays, I will see where I am at time-wise and perhaps jump back in.
The last couple years I have been doing BBR, which people play via YouTube (don’t get me started) and in person.
BBR is wild, more like poker than chess. But you all would be proud, me and Gargantua when to a bunch tourneys in Atlanta and St. Louis and stomped nerds into dust.
Anyway, thinking of getting back to something more cerebral/serious.

Once upon a time had a 1/4 victory ratio against AxisD. (That might be an exaggeration, LOL)
I joined the G40 league right when it started like in 2012? Back then it was all fast paced, ripping turns, cracking dice, completing like 30+ games a season. When the “good” players got in, the level of play shifted and you either slowed down and thought about your moves or you DIED.
I died a lot before I learned my lesson (sort of).

Oh man… the memories of trying to move 40+ mega stack and having the program freeze!

@simon33 point of view of a weaker player: Four years or so ago, you posted like five defeats during one single day. I thought: well, that’s my victim. And then you just killed me 😅

I don’t think I did a single game of ABattlemap on G40… nor TripleA on Anniversary.
Now once in awhile I play the AI on TripleA AA50 - pretty fun now. The AI is pretty decent actually. It’s fun to just take Italy and tip the scales for the Axis -

I never understood People who played battle map
I played early versions od triple a, and no matter how imperfect it was, still much better then battle map IMHO

At least you could put your units where you wanted within the territories and zones!!
It was really cool, typing out your moves like you were playing chess from an 1800’s railroad telegraph office 🚂
Also, rolling dice on forum was more like playing in person than Triple A instantly spitting out the results. :aaa dice 3@1 5@2 6@3" sigh… 👦🏻
