On all of the league games, do we get 3 games per version to start?
I’d be happy to answer your question but I don’t understand the question.
i mean that we can play a person 3 time until you play so many games that count in the league. then we can play 5 and so on.
-
@dawgoneit does this count for all versions at the same time or can we play 3 games per version

All at the same time.
Example:
If you have a combined total of 12 games done
(say, 9 games BM, 2 games PTV and 1 game OOB)
and your opponent has a combined total of 16 games done, then you are both 10+ games total and can play to 3 wins (best of 5 games) together between the two of you.
This is also across all versions, so you shouldn’t do best of 5 in each version, but best of 5 over all. This is why I use the color code in the combined rankings but no where else. The idea is to make every player spread themselves around to different opponents, or in other words, keep two or three players from just playing all their league games against each other. This rule also helps making everyone’s rankings more accurate because of the variety of opponents.
As I’ve posted earlier in the year, I am probably going to relax the numbers for 2023 because there are less players and games. Like every 6 games instead of every 10 or something like that, otherwise everybody would have to play everybody.

@gamerman01 thank you.

Thanks for the question - probably helps others understand the league better.
-
@gamerman01 thank you for all you do with the league. i will be donating my usual again this year. i hope it helps. if theres anything more i can help with to keep the a&a site going just let me no.

Obviously every year that goes by and we’re playing the same version year after year, the interest wanes.
And as Karl said, G40 games take a lot of time and commitment. Compared to earlier versions of global A&A, well, there is no comparison as most of you know.G40 was such a leap forward for A&A in so many ways, it’s no wonder at all there was huge interest for the first few years, and a great observation by Simon that Balanced Mod was a big improvement that breathed new life and stoked a lot of interest, but it loses its new car smell too, like anything.
Someone, design a new global version of A&A that raises our heart rate again!
I have played A&A&Zombies and it is a hoot, a perfect “beer and pretzels game” as players used to say. But most of us probably wouldn’t play it very many times.
FABULOUS entry level A&A game, and also VERY interesting for veterans.Has the total number of players decreased year over year? I can understand why less games are being played, for reasons already noted.

Yes it has. Less players, harder to get games, some give up in frustration.
Although League games are normally finished unlike online games

I used to play games w/newbies just to get them going. Maybe I/we could do more…
-
All I have to say is if you are bored with BM, PtV is more complex. games are slower and take longer but more interesting. Come over to PtV
-
@666 Maybe we come up with some type of slogan and or promotion to get more players for next year. can we send any messages to old players to get them back?
-
Sure, those are good ideas -
Very exciting during 2022 to have some returning golden oldies - I guess - myself included <cough>I apologize if I overlooked you, but Ghostglider and Me1945 were especially interesting come-backs

I have a win against Soulblighter and Simon33 for 2023
I think I played a game against AndrewGamer in 2022?

Right, one reported with Andrew
So you’re saying you’re going to have 2 done in 2023, so in progress and you’re waiting 'til tomorrow to bust out of the gate 2 and 0? -

The playoff brackets and matchups are done
Time to start your engines! Many will get to play someone they’ve never played before - the bracket decides!
Exciting stuff. Have fun and be a good sport!Brackets are in a separate sheet in the standings spreadsheet. You may start immediately.
-
In the balanced mod, 2nd bracket, both Sovietishcat and Avner get “byes” for the first round due to their #1 and #2 status.
EVERYONE else who signed up can play now

Official league rules for 2023 have been scrutinized and IMPROVED and UPDATED
And even after that they still have some Commander Jennifer flavor to them (lol) she did a lot of good work for the league that we all still enjoy today.
Mostly updated for the 3 different game versions we play, and the number of games required for the playoffs.
One big change is you only need 6 games (across all versions) to be able to play a single adversary to best of 5, and then 12 to go best of 7 (etc). This could potentially add more games played for players who want to keep playing a favorite opponent and/or don’t want to spread themselves around too much. Anyway, based on the number of players and games we have these days it seems more appropriate.
And if any of you love to bid Chinese fighters to the game as the Allies, you will be really mad at me for removing them (AND ARTILLERY) from the rules. Reason is, the flying tigers are obviously supposed to be a unique American volunteer unit, and China needs to earn artillery by having the Burma road open at the beginning of their turn, IMO. But don’t despair, your opponent will probably be OK with them, and if your opponent agrees, you know, in the league you can then generally do it. (I reserve some exceptions)
