Thanks. Do games started these days but not completed in 2022 automatically count for 2023? Or do players have to determine and announce that in advance?

@pacifiersboard any game started now but completed in 2022 will count to 2023 (assuming it finishes then). If games finish just after Dec 31st 2022, there might be some latitude. Some players may start to declare a game is going to count for next year, but that is usually because it is unlikely to finish in time.

And if the game could be ended in 2022 but if both players want it in 2023, they could merely wait to call it over and report it in 2023.Note also that all playoff games which would be completed in 2023 will also be counted as regular 2023 games, per vast majority vote by league players several years ago.

This may not be welcome by current players or past legends, but I don’t mind if past legends like @Karl7 get a wild card place in the playoffs to spice it up a bit. Anyone feel free to throw flowers or rotten vegetables at this idea.

And you’re right, does not work at all for players hoping to get in the playoffs this year.
HOWEVER. We COULD totally have a wild bracket - would have to be BM3 or 4 - for resurrected legends, players who couldn’t get to 6, etc. Requirement would be something like, life-long # of league games played is > X
Where X is 5 or 10 or something. Also, no one allowed who is playing in a different playoff. That’s just off the cuff. Could be some other really interesting qualifiers too.So I leapfrog your cool suggestion with a

I think I also got that. Think I just downloaded the official release of 3A (started with a pre-release) and then it worked fine.

@farmboy Hopefully trulpen’s fix works great for you, but I can never find the right version or download to make play by forum work the way it should.
What’s working for me is choosing the “play by e-mail” option instead of local or forum, save the file and upload it. Everyone else probably has better solutions, but if all else fails you can do this. Good luck. -
thanks all for the suggestions. It works to do play by email so I at least have an option.
In the long run I will want play by forum fixed so I can do that when that option is available again. I did re download the release to see if that made a difference and it didn’t. I didn’t try the pre release as I thought that would not be compatible with the games I’m currently in. Am I right on that?

I have decided that there is sufficient interest in the Parisian Rebalance to upload into the standard global map package. You may need to delete and re-install.

@flyingbadger If you go into “download maps”, if it isn’t in the upgrade tab and that tab may not exist, you need to go to the Installed tab, click delete on Global and then go back to Available and install. Clear?

Yes, thanks. Did that and I now see I have a new map to play called World War II Global 1940 Parisian Rebalance. For France, if the US or UK have captured Normandy and/or Southern France, and Paris is retaken, the US/UK retain control of these territories and can keep and building there?
Churchill would like that Canada becomes the new leader of whatever is left of the UK forces and territories.

Only of the North American territories though. They don’t collect income from Africa or the Middle East.

Yes indeed. That if you took Paris you couldn’t keep building in these territories was a real disincentive to retaking them.
