If the US attacks a sub and a cruiser with only fighters, carriers, and transports (i.e. nothing that can kill a sub) can the sub continue combat after the cruiser dies? My opponent says that a lone sub can’t prevent a landing, but I thought the presence of the cruiser would make a landing impossible in this situation.

As long as the sub stays to fight, the landing can’t be done.

If USA, France, USSR or ANZAC captures it, yes.

My opponent has declared war to my Japan with his Russia. USA took Korea and he moved in there in ncm.

So, the catch for keepin the trigger in (allthough Russia declared war to Japan) is to not attack a Japanese territory (bordering Mongolia or the land of Korea), but to move in in ncm?

Because it is concerning Japan and Russia only.
So if US attacks Korea and Russia is walking in on NCM that is fine.

Look at this that way.

Mongolia is only concerned about Japan and Russia.
When a third party comes in, they throw the towel.

In balanced mod 3.0, I think a Russian DOW still prevents the land-lease NOs being doubled.

Of course it prevents, but the treaty is not broken with the Russian DOW (if Russia moved into Japanese territories bordering Mongolia + Korea in ncm).

It is one of the sneaky moves that is possible in G40. I feel that it’s a loophole. I would be OK with the rules if the USSR DOW on Japan nullified the Mongolian pact, but it doesn’t.

Two questions:

What happens if the US and UK have ANZAC and french inf on transports in sz 97 with only US and UK navy present and they amphib assault Northern italy and italy has planes to scramble?
Same scenario but italy also has a sub present?

In both cases a scramble prevents the unloading.
